Will Dive Club Return for Season 2? Netflix Renewal Explored

The Australian show Dive Club offers a teenage mystery drama to Netflix viewers, who fancy a bit of a whodunnit affair themselves.
Created by Steve Jaggi, Dive Club offers a fresh set of characters within the fictional coastal town of Cape Mercy, who are tasked with figuring out the disappearance of their friend. In light of the Season 1 finale, we explore its renewal for season 2.
Will Dive Club Return for Season 2?
- Netflix has not officially renewed Dive Club for season 2. However, the prospect of its return is likely.
Season 1 reportedly performed well and pulled in the necessary ratings to warrant a second season. However, Netflix will also apply its tried and tested renewal procedure to see if it wants to invest in another season or commission a completely new show instead.
Unfortunately, Netflix can often take a few months to give out any renewal news, so fans may have a restless wait ahead.
Nevertheless, season 1 ended with a cliffhanger that proposes material for a second chapter, and if a second inning is green-lit, we should expect to see it premiere next year at some point.
What Could Season 2 Be About?
Ending on a cliffhanger is a classic way to hook the audience in for season 2, and Dive Club did just that.
In a desperate attempt to find their friend Lauren after her disappearance, the dive club finds her at a lighthouse, and Anna’s Russian heritage is questioned in the denouement of the series.
Season 1 ends with the group marooned on a boat at sea during a storm and forced to watch the dive club get burned down by Anna. Season 2 will first and foremost have to answer what happens to them. Leonid Komarov also took a fall in the season finale, tying his fate to the start of season 2 as well.
Season 2 is also expected to explore more of the towns’ secrets, as the Volkov family attempt to conceal their past. Viktorya’s true identity will also be another reveal up for grabs.
