Why did Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce?
After a dreamy love story, the reason for Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s divorce was stated as differences in personalities. The couple who tied the knot in October 2017 called it quits in 2019 as Song Joong Ki announced that he has filed for divorce from Hye Kyo.
Later, Song Hye Kyo gave a brief explanation of why the couple chose to end their marriage via her agency revealing, “the reason [for the divorce] is differences in personality.”
The agency added, “as the two were unable to overcome their differences, they were forced to come to this decision (the divorce). We respectfully ask for your understanding in regard to the fact that we cannot confirm any further details out of respect for the two actors’ personal lives.”
