Why Did Shaka McKellan Leave Family Reunion? Reason Behind His Exit

With the news of Shaka McKellan leaving Family Reunion all of a sudden, fans are surprised, wondering the reason behind it. Well, the character has been played by Isaiah Russell-Bailey. He is very young and has done an incredible job. He disappeared right in Season 3 after getting into the boarding school. People were expecting him to make a comeback, at least in the new one.

But it’s sad to know that we can’t be expecting him in the  Family Reunion Season 5. In case you don’t know, that is just made its premiere on 27 October 2022 on Netflix. Before diving into the details of why Isaiah, aka Shaka, left the sitcom, let’s learn a bit about him. Isaiah Russell-Bailey is an incredible actor who is reported to be 16 years old. So young and fresh! He has done quite a few roles, such as in We Can Be Heroes, Crater, A Throwback Holiday, Raven’s Home, Criminal Minds, and Game On: A Comedy Crossover Event.

He isn’t just an actor but also has great dancing skills. Now, Isaiah has also become a great model and collaborates with certain brands. Briefly, we may address him, the rising sensation! Talking about Family Reunion, the sitcom was created by Meg DeLoatch. It made its debut in July 2019, with Season 5 releasing yesterday, as mentioned already. With the title itself, it’s a family drama, of course. It focuses on the struggles of a family in Seattle, who relocated to Georgia, the place where the extended ones live.

The journey doesn’t get that easy, and it faces obstacles. However, there are also certain comedy scenes that will make you laugh out loud. If you want to spend your weekend with your family watching a drama, Family Reunion is a perfect choice. This television comedy has won NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Children’s Program, not just for the story but also the credit goes to each of the actors.

Shaka is the older son of Cocoa and Moz. Even though he is mischievous at times but understands the situation quite well. Why did the actor leave the show? How did the character play end? Here are your answers.

Reason Behind Shaka McKellan Leaving Family Reunion 

Isaiah Russell-Bailey is indeed a promising actor. People were enjoying Shaka’s mischievous character, pulling pranks on everyone in the show. His sudden exit made the viewers wonder if there were any personal issues. Some fans even wondered if the actor was finding it troublesome to manage his working schedule. Well, nothing related to this has been confirmed yet. 

Shake didn’t leave Family Reunion. Then? As mentioned earlier, he was sent to boarding school for his studies. We wonder if the actor has real-life exams. He didn’t confirm anything. Yes! Not even an official farewell message to the cast and fans. Because of that, he stopped making appearances in the show. Is there a possibility of his comeback? We aren’t sure about it, though.

Meg DeLoatch didn’t open up about the character or even about his departure. So, it’s not possible to ascertain if Isaiah will again be seen at Family Reunion. Being the second child of Cocoa McKellan and Moz McKellan, the entire family loved him. When he was sent to boarding school, people thought his habit of pulling pranks would stop. Instead, he fooled everyone with partying ways, even if not permanently. It’s temporary. We wonder what he is up to. What do you think?
