Reason Behind Hotch Leaving Criminal Minds After Season 12 Revealed 

Well, it was not Thomas Gibson’s plan or decision to make his move from Criminal Minds after serving for so long. Then? Hotch was fired after he argued publicly on the set. In another way, we may say that it was the case of an altercation. 

It’s very rare to see the same cast playing from start to finish in any long-running series. Having this thought in mind, many people sportingly took his exit in 2016. At the same time, the rest felt bad and had questions in their mind.

When asked Thomas about it, the actor said that he had put his heart and soul into Criminal Minds straightaway for 12 years. In addition to that, he also regretted failing to make it to the end. Thomas Gibson thanked everyone, including the writers, producers, actors, amazing crew, and fans. 

Little did you know that it was not Thomas Gibson’s first time of his involvement in an altercation case. Earlier, the actor reportedly pushed a producer. Because of that, he was asked to take anger management classes.

So, he returned to the set and accidentally tapped William on his leg. He was sorry on the following day, filmed his scenes, and got back home. It was his last day of the shoot for Criminal Minds. So, he was formally fired from the drama series. 

When asked, many people claimed his behavior to be friendly but still anger-prone. That’s kind of volatile behavior. Thomas Gibson shared that she shouldn’t have done that. He cited the reason as “creative differences.”

How did it impact the character Hotch? It was written off from Criminal Minds as he was made to move into the witness protection program. Will Hotch ever make his comeback? Possibly, No.
