From the creators of Rick and Morty comes Solar Opposites, a clever comedy about a family of aliens living on Earth. The series has only just premiered and first episode was dedicated to someone called Mike Mendel, but who was he?
Solar Opposites is an American animated sitcom created by Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty) and Mike McMahan on Hulu.
The series tells the story of a “family of aliens from a better world who must take refuge in middle America. They disagree on whether this is awful or awesome.”
All eight episodes dropped on Hulu on May 8th and in the first episode, fans noticed that the pilot was dedicated to Mike Mendel, but who was Mike Mendel?

Michael ‘Mike’ Mendel was an American television producer who worked on various popular series that sadly passed away in late September 2019.

What shows did Mike Mendel work on?
Mike Mendel is best known for his work as a producer on The Simpsons (1989 – 1999) and Rick and Morty (2013 – 2019).
Mendel won three Emmy awards for his work on The Simpsons episodes ‘Lisa’s Wedding’ in 1995, ‘Homer’s Phobia’ in 1997 and ‘Trash of the Titans’ in 1998.
He added a fourth Emmy award to his collection in 2018 for the infamous ‘Pickle Rick’ episode of Rick and Morty.
Mendel has also worked on The Tracey Ullman Show (1987 – 1989), Jerry Maguire (1995), Kid Notorious (2003), Good Vibes (2011) and Napoleon Dynamite (2012).

How did Mike Mendel die?
Mike Mendel sadly passed away at his home in Los Angeles from natural causes on September 22nd 2019, two days before his 55th birthday.
