Who is Susanna Gibson? Nurse practitioner's videos with husband labelled an act of 'revenge'
Susanna Gibson, a Virginia Democratic candidate running for the commonwealth’s House of Delegates, has been accused of performing sex acts with her husband online.
According to sources, they performed in front of an online audience and encouraged viewers to send them “tip” money. The 40-year-old has since responded alongside her attorney, saying the leaked footage is an act of “revenge porn”.

The Washington Post first reported that Gibson had posted over a dozen videos on the adult streaming platform Chaturbate, where she had amassed over 5,000 followers. The outlet reports the videos were archived on a site called Recurbate in September 2022, and the most recent videos were archived on Sep 30, 2022.
Susanna Gibson’s videos were no longer able to be viewed. However, two videos reportedly remained live on another non-password-protected site.
In one video, Susanna Gibson allegedly told followers that they could watch her perform adult acts if they “tip” her with “tokens”. She also claims in the video that she is “raising money for a good cause.”
As reported by The New York Post, in other videos, Gibson suggested that she and her husband have “tried swapping” with different partners as she is “ethically non-monogamous,” but that he “doesn’t like sharing.”
Gibson told The Washington Post that the incident represents: “An illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family. It won’t intimidate me and it won’t silence me,”
Gibson added: “My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up.”
The candidate’s attorney, Daniel P. Watkins, also told the outlet that the archived videos violated Virginia’s revenge porn law. “We are working closely with state and federal law enforcement,” he said.
Who is Susanna Gibson?
Susanna Gibson is a nurse practitioner who is running in a competitive race in suburban Richmond for the House of Delegates in the 57th district.
According to her website, she is a 40-year-old mom of two. Susanna is a public health expert who has spent her career helping people and advocating for families. She graduated from the University of Virginia and Columbia University.
‘I have worked in the medical field serving the greater Richmond community for nearly 15 years,’ she writes on her website. ‘Throughout this time, I have cared for patients in several capacities and specialties, including Geriatrics and Home-Based Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Obesity Medicine.’
According to her website, she is also an advocate for preventing gun violence. She says she wants to ‘make sure we take steps to protect our neighborhoods from gun violence’. She also believes ‘in common-sense gun laws and using evidence-based interventions to reduce firearm-related injuries and deaths.’
Susanna is also on Instagram and Twitter and is a self-described ‘dog lover.’

Susanna Gibson’s husband is reportedly John David Gibson, who is an attorney. According to online sources, prior to becoming an attorney, John studied at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. He graduated in 2008. After passing the bar exam, he was admitted to legal practice in 2011.
