American journalist and author Richard Engel is best recognised for his work as the top international reporter for NBC News.

The author, Richard, is a married man. Producer of American television programmes Mary Forrest.

The foreign journalist referred to Forrest as a producer when he first appeared as a guest on Martha Stewart’s show five years ago.

Likewise, Richard’s wife had earned her degree from the University College of Dublin with honours. Forrest has a private Instagram account with the username @marykforrest.

Due to her lack of online information sharing, Martha seems to be a private person.

Before deciding to get married in 2015, the couple had been in a romantic relationship for five years. Since then, Richard and Martha have shared a home with their family.

In May 2015, Mary Forrest and Richard Engel exchanged vows. The civil union between Richard and Mary took place in New York City.

A couple of months later, on September 29, the NBC reporter tweeted the couple’s first child, a son named Henry, had been born.

The journalist tweeted, “Couldn’t be happier to welcome our newborn kid.” Mother and child are both fine.

In a recent tweet, he expressed excitement for his upcoming new journey with the child. The Today Show was informed by the anchor on August 19, 2019, that he and Mary had a second child together.

The journalist announced after the birth of his second kid that he and his wife Mary are overjoyed to introduce our new boy Theodore (Theo).

What happened to Henry, his son?

One day, Henry Engel’s parents, Richard Engel and Mary Forrest, realised he was having trouble with his cognitive and physical abilities. They later learned that their son, Henry, was given a Rett Syndrome diagnosis in 2017 at the age of barely two.

Apparently, Henry was suffering from a severe genetic disorder with no known cure that ultimately prevented him from developing.

In 2019, Engel wrote a personal essay about the emotional high he experienced after hearing his three-year-old child say “dada.”

When Henry was two years old and unable to communicate or clap his hands, the author and her wife realised something was wrong with their child.

On August 9, Henry succumbed to Rett Syndrome, and his family is requesting money to help them discover a cure. On August 18, NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard announced the passing of his 6-year-old son Henry.
