However, some celebrate the occasion on International Twins Day, which is observed on December 18.
Origin of the celebration
According to National Today, National Twins Day was inspired by twins Aaron and Moses Wilcox, who changed the name of the town Millville to Twinsburg in 1819 by donating six acres of land.
The first twin festival was hosted in Twinsburg in 1976. National Twins Day was born during the second annual festival.
The festival is celebrated with various themes including Double Fun, The Roaring TWINties, Two-of-a-kind and more.
