Wake Brewing a long time in the making

Two brothers are tapping into the craft beer business as the latest brewery in the Quad Cities opens its doors.

Wake Brewing in Rock Island held their grand opening, allowing customers and beer enthusiasts to try their brews from IPA to Stout.

It’s been two years in the making for owners Jason and Justen Parris.

They wanted to create a place where people could have a conversation and enjoy beer. You won’t find TVs or jukeboxes as they’re hoping to encourage people to interact one-on-one.

For the owners, they’re excited to be a part of the Quad Cities beer scene, already receiving support from other breweries in the area.

Co-owner Justen Parris said, “Our goal is just to truly be a part cause the brewing community is like no other I’ve seen. Everybody’s been super positive, super nice, fully supportive, and we think that our crowd is going to support other breweries as well.”

The Parris brothers say they partner on ventures a lot so opening the brewery together was the right fit.
