The Gap Between You and Me Chapter 1 starts with Harrieta recounting the accounts that got them to the present. Her family has gotten a new slave, and that slave is none other than Edwing, the man she had fallen for at sight. She had meetings with him before, but the two could not grow closer as they were at different positions in life.

But there he was, in front of her with his hair tied and face dirtied. The once lord of the city had been reduced to a mere slave, and he will be working for Harrita’s family in the future. Looking at his face, her old memories started to surface of how she met him for the first time.

Harrieta was a bratty girl with no charm of a lady inside, and she did as she pleased and didn’t care about the consequences. This made her parents decide that she would be given to her aunt for care. And that was the beginning of her going to the balls and her chance meeting with Edwin.
