Dragon Prince season 5: Explaining the ending

The goal for Season 4 and Season 5 of The Dragon Prince is to find Aaravos. The heroes wish to stop the destruction of their ancient enemies, while Claudia, Viren and Terry (Benjamin Callins) wish to free the Startouch Elf for Viren’s life. Both groups fight for Aaravos’s prison to be hidden and the Archdragons to share knowledge.

Claudia’s team scores, but Viren’s health holds them back. Ezran taps into Zubeia’s friendship to learn about Aaravos being held captive from other dragons. Ezran and crew arrived at the prison at the right time, but knowing it was underwater they were better prepared. Callum paints ruins to breathe underwater but Rayla’s anxiety keeps her away. She watches their animals from the boat with Soren while Callum and Ezran dive to stop Claudia.

Claudia concocted to breathe underwater and sprouted tentacles, where she met Callum and Ezran. The boys didn’t believe her claim that she was protecting her father. Ezran recognized the prison, but Claudia did not. She threatened him. Rayla bravely protects Ezran.

Rayla frees herself by severing Claudia’s tentacles, and Callum steals the potion, forcing the injured Claudia to return to the water. The heroes win and capture the magical little prison. With Claudia still their enemy, perhaps more than ever, the heroes need a plan to protect it or, as Callum suggests, kill Aaravos.
