The Actress Who Plays Libby Folfax On Jimmy Neutron Is Gorgeous In Real Life

Providing the voice for Libby Folfax on "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius" was none other than Crystal Scales. While not much is known about how Scales got to be in the "Jimmy Neutron" film or series, it's hard to imagine anyone else giving Libby her distinct brash personality. With Libby being the only major African American character on the show, Scales' ability to bring positive representation onto the series was a crucial aspect. Libby 's Y2K-era sensibility to her music and fashion choices likely helped her relate to Black audiences at the time, who hardly saw much in the way of this representation throughout most other animated media, all while still showcasing her as a smart, caring, and determined individual.

Outside of her work on "Jimmy Neutron," Scales provided the voices of Daisy in the Nick Jr. series "Oswald," Calvin in the adult stop motion animated series, "The PJs," and Tamika on the cult Cartoon Network series, "Class of 3000." Scales has also lent her talents to several comic book-related animated projects, including "Batman: Gotham Knight," "Wolverine and the X-Men," the "Spider-Man 3" Xbox video game, and "Static Shock."  Scales' last project was the direct-to-DVD film "Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo" in 2010. However, with some of the "Jimmy Neutron" cast willing to come back for a reboot (via Comicbook), maybe we will be able to hear Scales' one-of-a-kind voice again.
