Teen's horror injuries after she was glassed in the face while at bar celebrating her 18th birthday

A TEENAGER has revealed her horror injuries after she was glassed in the face while at a bar celebrating her 18th birthday.

Jess Coleman had only been at Five Bar in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, for 20 minutes when a brawl broke out and she got caught in the crossfire.

A man reportedly walked in off the street and threw a glass across the room but missed his intended victim and hit the teenager, leaving her with a gaping wound on her forehead.

She told the Huddersfield Examiner: “I looked down again and saw the blood pouring down. I couldn’t see out my left eye because there was so much blood.

“I fainted. I think it was from the shock."

Jess claims the attacker had been arguing with a man, who was with two other women - one of which had thrown a drink and splashed her.

The teenager was drying her arm when the glass hit her on the head.

She says that if she hadn't been looking downwards at her arm, it could have been her eye or the back of head and could have had fatal consequences.

Jess, who is in the middle of her A Level exams, said a bouncer rushed her upstairs to a first aider while the emergency services were called.

But paramedics were too busy and instead her parents were called to take her to hospital where the gash was glued back together.

Jess says the attack, which happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday night, has knocked her confidence and won't be going out much now.

A spokesperson for Five Bar told the Examiner: “We have done everything right that we could have done and we’re devastated, but it’s just the nature of the beast.

“The incident was captured on five HD cameras and we’ve handed all the CCTV to the police.”

West Yorkshire Police confirmed an investigation has been launched but couldn't provide further details.

Jess's sister Becky shared an appeal to find the attacker on Facebook and it's already been shared more than 1,000 times.
