SZA confirms release date for SOS with more details about new album
SZA has been teasing her new album, SOS, for a while now, and we finally have a confirmed release date for her new album as the singer dropped the details during her latest appearance on SNL.
The singer first teased her new album at the beginning of December by sharing the cover art for her upcoming record.
However, she did not disclose the details behind it. Luckily for her fans, the singer did not wait too long to reveal more details, as she has now confirmed the release date.
SZA confirms the release date for SOS
Appearing on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL), SZA confirmed her new album SOS will be dropping on December 9th.
The singer announced the news while she performed her hit single Shirt.
S.O.S. is a follow-up to her 2017 album CTRL. Fans had been waiting for the singer to drop the next album ever since.
SOS is different from CTRL
Speaking to Billboard, SZA did confirm SOS was different from her previous album, as a lot has changed during the wait.
Her writing has become better, and her emotions have transitioned, she says. The singer stated these would be some of the changes that fans would see in her latest release.
In the interview, SZA also admitted if the hardships she endured between the two albums were worth it. Nonetheless, the singer was excited to let her fans listen to her new creation.
Feeling pressured
SZA enjoyed the taste of sweet success when she released her album in 2017. The sudden recognition did leave the singer shocked.
Nonetheless, she decided to focus on what she knew best – music.
She told Billboard: “I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don’t know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I’m supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody.
“I’mma take a good swing at it, and I’mma give ’em my absolute best.”
Now, she is excited to see how fans react to her new release.
