Sophie Brochu serves as Independent Director of the Company. Ms. Brochu is President and Chief Executive Officer of Énergir, a position she has held since 2007 and will hold until her planned retirement in December 2019. She began her career in 1987 at SOQUIP (a Quebec crown corporation). In 1997, she joined Énergir as Vice President, Business Development and worked in various positions in the company over the years. She has served as Chair of the Board at Green Mountain Power Corp. since 2018. Ms. Brochu also sits on the board of directors of Bank of Montreal, Bell Canada, BCE Inc. and Northern New England Energy Corporation. She is also involved with Centraide of Greater Montréal. In addition, Ms. Brochu is the Chair of Fondation Forces Avenir, which promotes student involvement in their communities and is cofounder of “ruelle de l’avenir”, a project aimed at encouraging students in the Centre-Sud and Hochelaga neighbourhoods of Montréal to remain in school. Ms. Brochu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Université Laval and is a member of the Order of Canada.
