Why Is This Important?

The rumors were true.

Long Story Short

Daniel Craig will appear in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

Long Story

Simon Pegg has revealed that James Bond himself will make an appearance in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. There had been rumors months ago that Daniel Craig has visited the set and people went ballistic trying to figure out if he was just taking a tour or if he was actually filming a secret cameo.

If we're to believe Pegg, who has a good relationship with director J.J. Abrams, then Craig will indeed have a cameo. A tiny cameo. You probably won't even be able to recognize him.

Pegg told The Sun "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper... I shouldn't have said that."

So, Craig will probably play a storm trooper who never takes off his helmet. It'll be more off an Easter egg for us geek-folk than anything else.

Pegg, meanwhile, seemed to deflect his involvement in Star Wars. The Star Trek 3 writer is also rumored to have a role in The Force Awakens and all he did to quash that rumor was to say that he would not be playing a stormtrooper.

He'd make a great space pirate. Maybe an associated of Lupita Nyong'o?

Abrams kept such a tight lid on production while filming the highly-anticipated sequel that I'm sure we're in for a ton of surprises.

Daniel Craig will next appear as James Bond in SPECTRE, due out in November. Star Wars hits screens a month later.
