Save-A-Lot stores shut down

Another business has shut down in the Quad Cities.

The Save-A-Lot grocery stores in Rock Island and Milan each have a handwritten sign posted on the door.

It reads:

“We have permanently closed due to no longer being able to operate at an effective level. It’s been a privilege to be a part of this community.”

Our camera spotted a fully-stocked store, and lights and registers still on.

Calls to the store were not returned tonight.
