safety gate | Dementia Support Forum

Has anyone ever tried to put a child's safety gate at the top of the stairs to discourage a relative from going downstairs, putting the kettle on, trying to light the fire etc. We have an alarm to alert us to when mum gets up but can't always rouse in time to stop the danger. I'm afraid she would fall over it, husband thinks it's a good idea.
