Kyla Allison married Ryan Callahan on June 25, 2011, at the Oak Hill Country Club in New York. Allison has spent the majority of her life in New York.

From their more than a decade-long marriage, the couple has three children. They are well-known for their charity work and assistance to paediatric cancer patients.

Ryan Callahan and his wife Kyla Allison currently reside in Rochester, New York. The footballer spent his entire career in the city.

The couple originally met in 2004 and began dating soon after. They had been together for more than seven years before deciding to marry in 2011.

Ryan and Kyla married on June 25, 2011, at the Oak Hill Country Club in front of their closest friends and family. In 2013, the PGA Championship was held at the same location.

They were recently spotted at the Psychedelic Soirée event, where they were warmly received by all. At the ceremony, a Facebook account called FOX 13’s Jennifer Epstein shared a photo of the couple.

In their eleven-year marriage, the couple has been blessed with three children. They have two daughters, Charlotte and Evelyn, as well as a son, Dominick.

Kyla has 291 followers on Instagram under the account @kylamariecallahan. She has, however, elected to conceal her identity and keep the account private.

The Ryan Callahan Foundation was founded by Ryan and his wife, Kyla Allison, to assist paediatric cancer patients and their families. Furthermore, the couple has been giving back to the community through humanitarian activity.

On September 16, 2016, the Ryan Callahan Foundation announced the launch of its new website and the beginning of its goal to provide those fighting childhood cancer with moments of family unity.

While Callahan is the Foundation’s public face, Kyla is its “driving soul,” according to Callahan. The Foundation is largely influenced by Ryan Callahan’s wife.

Given that Ryan and Kyla both have cancer diagnoses in their families, the non-profit is undeniably a worthy cause. Sarah Mini, a close family friend of Kyla’s, was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of six months and lived until the age of six. Similarly, Callahan’s grandfather died from pancreatic cancer.

The couple’s three children, Charlotte, 9, Evelyn, 7, and Dominick, 4, made paediatric cancer a particularly personal issue for them because they couldn’t imagine what life would be like if their family was afflicted.

Timeline

2019

Callahan was diagnosed with degenerative back condition and placed on long-term injured reserve on June 20, 2019, effectively terminating his professional career. On July 30, 2019, with one season remaining on his initial six-year contract, the Lightning transferred Callahan’s contract, along with a 2020 fifth-round pick, to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Mike Condon and a 2020 sixth-round pick.

2017

The Lightning announced on January 15, 2017, that Callahan would be out for four weeks due to a lower body ailment. Callahan was still plagued by his hip, which had been surgically repaired during the offseason. He was limited to 18 games after his initial return in November before losing further time. Callahan had a follow-up treatment on his right hip in New York City on February 22, 2017, according to Lightning General Manager Steve Yzerman. Yzerman said the physicians figured out what was causing Callahan’s hip pain since it was surgically fixed in June. According to Yzerman, the labrum is still intact and the problem is more of a scar tissue issue. It is not expected to be a career-ending problem. Callahan returned to the Lightning lineup for the first time since undergoing surgery on October 6, 2017.

2016

Callahan underwent surgery on June 21, 2016, to repair a labral tear in his right hip. He would be out for at least five months. Callahan has been suffering with the ailment since the end of the regular season and throughout the playoffs, which saw the Lightning reach the Eastern Conference Final. Callahan was unable to compete in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto due to an injury.

2015

Callahan had an emergency appendectomy on May 11, 2015, during the 2015 playoffs. As a result of the procedure, he missed Game 6 against the Montreal Canadiens. Callahan returned to the lineup for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final against his previous team, the New York Rangers, just five days after having surgery. After seven games, the Lightning overcame the Rangers. After defeating the Rangers, the Lightning advanced to the Stanley Cup Final, where they were defeated in six games by the eventual Stanley Cup Champions, the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Lightning’s head coach, Jon Cooper, stated on October 7, 2015, that Callahan will wear a permanent “A” as an alternate captain for the 2015-16 NHL season.

2014

The Tampa Bay Lightning traded captain Martin St. Louis and a conditional second-round draught pick in 2015 to the New York Rangers on March 5, 2014, in exchange for Callahan, a first-round pick in 2015, a conditional second-round pick in 2014 (which later became a first-round pick), and a seventh-round pick in 2015. (conditional at the time of the trade).

2013

Contract extension talks with the Rangers stalled during the 2013-14 season, as the two parties were apparently $500,000 per season apart for six years – Callahan was asking $39 million for six years, while New York was firm at $36 million for six years.

2012

Callahan scored his 100th NHL goal on February 25, 2012, in overtime against the Buffalo Sabres at Madison Square Garden. In the 2012 playoffs, he led the Rangers to their first Conference Final appearance since 1997; he also scored the Rangers’ first and last goals of the postseason, which New York eventually lost in six games to the New Jersey Devils.

2011

On March 6, 2011, Callahan scored four goals and one assist as the Rangers defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 7-0, recording his first NHL hat-trick, four-goal game, and five-point game. After stopping a Zdeno Chára slapshot in the final minutes of the team’s 79th game of the season against the Boston Bruins, he shattered his ankle.

2010

On January 1, 2010, Callahan was named to Team USA’s squad for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where he won a silver medal after losing to Canada in the tournament final.

2009

On October 2, 2009, Callahan was selected the Rangers’ alternate captain to begin the 2009-10 season. On December 15, 2010, he injured his hand while blocking a shot in Pittsburgh. During his recovery, he missed 19 games.

2008

Callahan missed a month with a grade two knee sprain after scoring one goal in the first eight games of the Rangers’ 2007-08 season. He did not soon regain his strength at the NHL level, going without a goal for the following 16 games, causing the Rangers to return him to the Wolf Pack on January 7, 2008.

He was called up on February 3 to replace an injured Brendan Shanahan in the Rangers’ lineup against the Montreal Canadiens after playing 11 games in Hartford. On February 17, Callahan had his second career two-goal game against the San Jose Sharks.

2006

Callahan was called up to the Rangers for the first time on November 28, 2006, and made his NHL debut on December 1, however he only played in one game before being sent back down to the Wolf Pack. On December 19, he was called up for a second time, however he only appeared in one NHL game. Callahan was called up for the third and final time by the Rangers on March 15, 2007, after scoring 35 goals in 60 AHL games, and he would stay with the Rangers through the 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs. On March 17, he scored his first two NHL goals against the Boston Bruins’ Joey MacDonald.

And, on March 21, he received his first career assist, and on April 1, he scored his first career game-winning goal. On April 17, 2007, he scored his first two NHL playoff goals in a 7-0 win over the Atlanta Thrashers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

1999

Callahan played ice hockey at Hilton High School for one year. He began his junior career with the Rochester Junior Americans of the Empire Junior B Hockey League, where he spent two seasons (1999-2001).

He then played in the OPJHL with the Syracuse Jr. Crunch and Buffalo Lightning before moving on to a four-year stint with the Guelph Storm, where he played alongside future Ranger teammate Dan Girardi. Callahan made his professional debut with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2006-07.
