Dolly was also beaten with a baseball bat in addition to being shot with a 22-caliber rifle, and Eddie was bludgeoned with a 16-gauge shotgun.
Rick Ennis had also confessed to his crime in court. However, he was less than 14 years of age. According to Alabama law, he could not be prosecuted as an adult. He was released at age 21.
