The AI-generated website sometimes undergoes server problems and glitches. The most recent error users are reporting has been causing problems for hours now. Here are some potential fixes.
Character AI is down
Many AI-powered tools are taking over the Internet, including ChatGPT. However, Character AI is a lead competitor and has also taken the attention of the masses. The two sites differ slightly, instead of being knowledge-based like ChatGPT, Character AI’s purpose is to “entertain” with fictional conversations and ideas.
Founded by Noam Shazeer and Daniel de Freitas, Character AI even lets you have live chats with characters, including Elon Musk, Tony Stark, and fictional characters.
Many people have gone on to create their own characters, give them personalities and have conversations with them. Some users have taken to Twitter to complain that they were in the midst of a great conversation when the server crashed.
Character AI is currently down and this is not the first time it has happened. Back in December, they underwent a maintenance problem due to increased usage. Thankfully they were back up and running in no time, hopefully, that will be the case this time too.

If Character AI may be undergoing loading issues due to an increase in page traffic. It is recommended that you keep refreshing the page. Try running the website in incognito mode or you can try clearing the cookies and cache. Lastly, try using a VPN and then check if you can access the website.
The character AI server may be down due to an influx of users, meaning the capacity is full. Usually when a site is facing server errors there isn’t anything you can do, sadly it is a waiting game until Character AI fixes the issue.
