Wow, what a lot of interesting replies! When I thought about it, it was quite obvious that I shouldn't have put mum's photos out. She's just moved into a new place and really doesn't need reminding of what she's left behind. Also, in her old house she paid little attention to the photos because they'd always been there. Now it's like she's seeing them for the first time. In particular it upset her seeing her mum who died when my mum was young.

So, I put them all away today. I asked mum if I could take them home to scan them so we don't lose them and she was happy with that. I've put up lots of pictures of birds instead! Like Chemmy I've put out some photos of mum when she was young and beautiful. She seems to quite like looking at those.

I loved the idea of a sensory room. I'm going to put that one in my back pocket for later on down the line ;-)
