Paul Jandreau Murder: Where is Lateisha Jandreau Now?

In July 2010, North Carolina was the scene of one of the saddest marriage problems that ended when the wife shot her husband. If the husband’s friends weren’t so devoted, Lateisha Jandreau might have been able to get rid of the body and get away with murder.

The show “Killer Bods: Blood, Sweat, and Tears” on Investigation Discovery goes in-depth into the murder and shows the viewers what happened in order. If you’re already interested and want to know everything about the case, who did it, and where they are now, we’ve got you covered. Then let’s just jump in.

How Did Paul Jandreau Die?

Paul Steven Jandreau, who was 51 years old and had retired from the Navy as a master chief, worked at BAE Systems, a defense contractor in Norfolk, Virginia. He had a group of very loyal friends who helped a lot in finding out who killed him. Mike Jandreau, the brother of the person who died, said that Paul was “a good guy with a close group of friends.” His friends told him that Paul had met his 38-year-old wife, Lateisha Jandreau, at a kickboxing class. Lateisha was a good athlete, and in June 2010, she won the North Carolina bodybuilding championship from the National American Sports Federation. On June 28, 2003, she and Paul got married. Don Roof, who worked with Paul for 3 years, said, “He was a great guy who really cared about his friends.”

Paul was always on time, so when he didn’t show up to work on June 30, 2010, and didn’t even answer his friends’ calls, they were worried. They called the Currituck County Sheriff’s Department, and Deputy Sheriff Lisa Starcher went to Paul’s house at 100 Armstead Court to check on his well-being. She went to the house at about 7:44 a.m., but she couldn’t reach Lateisha. The driveway had Paul’s 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck. Last but not least, Lateisha was called at work, and she came back around 8:30 am to let Starcher check out the house. She didn’t find anything strange, but when she went back to the house later that afternoon, she saw that the windows, which had been open before, were now covered with “a blue tarp, tin foil, or frosting.”

Find A Grave has the photo

On July 1, 2010, Starcher and another deputy went back to the house around 11:40 a.m. and found Paul’s truck full of furniture and a very angry and upset Lateisha. She told the officers that the last time she talked to Paul was on June 29, 2010. She is said to have said that she and Paul led different lives. Starcher came back to Lateisha’s house on July 2, 2010, around 5:30 pm, as planned, but she wasn’t there. Lateisha called 911 to say she was in Chesapeake, Virginia, but the 911 dispatcher could tell from her cell phone’s location that she was at home.

The police thought something was wrong and came back with a search warrant on June 3, 2010, just after midnight. They broke through the garage door and found Lateisha hiding in the back of a closet with clothes and blankets. Officers did a thorough search of the house and found Paul’s body in a large tote. A.45 caliber handgun was used to shoot him 5 times, once in the stomach, chest, thigh, neck, and hand. He also had about 12 cuts on his head that “looked like they were made by a blunt, hard object like a pistol.” The body was wrapped in plastic and taped with duct tape, then put in a tote and hidden under a pile of trash in the garage.

Who put Paul Jandreau to death?

Coworkers, neighbors, and Paul’s lawyer all said that both Paul and Lateisha had said that Paul wanted to get a divorce. The police took all of these statements into account. The lawyer and one of his coworkers also said that Paul told them about waking up one night to find Lateisha crawling across his room. He told his lawyer that after that, he always locked the door to his room. Mike, who is also a witness, said that Paul had told him about his marriage problems and how his wife was cheating. The last time they saw each other was in February at the Daytona 500 stock car race. Mike thought back: “He had been talking about getting a divorce for weeks. He told me that she was cheating on him, and he had proof. He said that all he needed was for her to leave his house so he could get his life back.

Officers went to Jandreau’s house and found a variety of cleaning supplies. They also said that the hardwood floor in the master bedroom looked like it had been scrubbed. Bullet holes had been filled with caulk on the bedroom walls, and there were blood stains on the bedroom rug. The police also took things from the kitchen like duct tape, caulk, and plastic wrap, as well as spent bullets from the scene. A small black bag with a.45 caliber handgun in it was found when the two cars in the driveway were searched. Even though the gun’s magazine was empty, two other magazines with live rounds were found. From the driveway, I also found a receipt from Lowe for a large tote from July 1, 2010.

What is Lateisha Jandreau doing now?

Lateisha was charged with murder in the first degree and theft of a gun. The trial took place at the Criminal Session of Currituck County Superior Court on September 24, 2012. Lateisha said that Paul was a very violent person, and she even said that he pointed a gun at her. Lateisha said she didn’t do anything wrong and that she shot Paul in self-defense, but she did admit to lying to the deputies about where her husband was. But after about two hours of deliberation, the jury found the man guilty. After she was found guilty, on September 28, 2012, Judge Jerry R. Tillett gave her a sentence of life in prison without the chance of parole. She took her case to the North Carolina Court of Appeals, but the verdict stood. She is in jail at the Anson Correctional Institution in Polkton, North Carolina, according to official records.
