Patrol car hit, Knox County Deputy at hospital ‘as a precaution,’ social-media post says

According to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office post on Facebook, a Knox County patrol car was struck by another vehicle while blocking traffic at a fire scene Sunday on Knox Highway 8.

“Our Deputy was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The Deputy is being transported to the hospital as a precaution. Thank you for your kind words and prayers,” the post says.

The Illinois State Police are handling the crash investigation, according to the post.
