His first Assamese film was a hit movie as a lead actor. He got the opportunity for starring in many movies after playing his role in Dr. Bezbaruah in 1969.
He worked in a few Hindi movies as a character actor. He appeared in the “Writu aahe writu jaai” tv serial.
