Neil Cronin Obituary; Native Of Dedham, Massachusetts Has Passed Away.
On November 17, 2023, Neil Francis Cronin, 83, of Dedham, Massachusetts, passed away quietly at home surrounded by his kids. Sheila Vazquez and Adam of Westwood, Brian and Janine Cronin of Norwood, Neil Cronin Jr. and Maryellen, Tricia, Karen Tobin and John of West Roxbury, and Mary Beth Cronin of Dedham were all children Neil loved.
Patricia (Salmon) was his wife of 53 years. Adam, Elizabeth, Dylan, Joseph, Shane, James, Braden, Kevin, Mary Kate, Marcus, Melanie, and Natalie have a proud Grampy. Francis and Elizabeth Cronin welcomed him into the world in 1940, and he grew up in Dorchester alongside his six brothers. Stephen, Kenneth, and Leo, Neil’s siblings, passed away before him. He is survived by brothers Gerard and Ann, Paul and Dianne, and Philip and Donna, as well as sister-in-law Patricia Cronin.
He left behind pals, grandnieces, grandnephews, nieces, and nephews. Neil joined the Air Force and spent five years stationed in South East Asia following his attendance at St. Gregory’s Parochial School and Boston Trade. After serving his country and receiving a BA in English, he spent 45 years working at Boston College. At Peterson School, he enjoyed working as a part-time teacher helping electricians get ready for the journeyman’s license.
Dedham’s inspector of electrical work. Neil and Patricia were involved in St. Susanna’s Church and reared their family in Dedham. He spent years serving as a Eucharistic Minister and loved volunteering at bingo. Neil was a coach and the head of the Dedham Youth Hockey board. He became well-known in the community thanks to his love of athletics, concerts, and giving shows for his kids and grandkids.
