Meet Kodi Lee’s family as Korean American pianist returns to AGT age 26

Kodi Lee returned to AGT for an All-Stars 2023 performance of Biblical by Calum Scott this week – here’s a look at what we know about his parents Tina and Eric, and family in general.

When Lee first heard about America’s Got Talent All-Stars, the first words to come out of his mouth were “Heck yeah!”

From Irvine, California, Kodi Lee’s age is currently 26 – he will turn 27 later this year. He won AGT season 14.

Who are Kodi Lee’s parents Eric and Tina?

AGT audiences will likely already be familiar with Lee’s mother, Tina. She accompanied him to his audition and subsequent performances, often walking him to the piano.

After his quarterfinals performance of Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, she said it was the best she had “ever heard him sing.”

“He took it to a totally different level that shocked my entire family,” she said, meaning Kodi Lee’s father Eric and his two younger siblings, Kayla and Derek. “I honestly could not stop crying happy tears.”

Eric Lee is a graphic designer and black belt martial artist. He reportedly built the Kodi Lee Rocks website and designs all the graphics for his son’s merchandise.

His brother and sister both guest star on his YouTube channel

Kodi Lee has a younger sister called Kayla, and a younger brother called Derek. Both have appeared more than once on his YouTube channel.

Like his older brother, Derek Lee is a singer and musician. He turned 21 in August 2019 – Kodi wished him a big happy birthday on Facebook; he’ll turn 25 later this year.

Kayla, meanwhile, graduated from Elsinore high school in June 2018, meaning she is likely 23, or a year either side, as of 2023.

Like their father, she and Derek both studied martial arts when they were younger, according to Heavy. Along with Kodi, they regularly feature in each other’s social media uploads.

Kodi Lee’s family regularly post supportively about each other on social media

In 2019, Lee’s sister Kayla posted on Instagram that she was “beyond proud” of him for “all his hard work,” adding that he was “living his dream” and that Capitol Records had been a “huge part of that.”

She thanked everyone for supporting Kodi. Then in 2021, she wished her mother a happy Mother’s Day, calling her “truly amazing, beautiful, inspiring [and] strong.”

Kodi, meanwhile, regularly posts about the Lee family at large, including about specific members – last Christmas, they recorded a video for TikTok, in which they jump into the air and magically change into their festive outfits upon landing.

Before he started performing as a singer and pianist, his mother has reportedly said, Kodi used to tantrum “like 30 times a day. After he started performing,” however, “he got it. It really helped us to get his autism under control. He wants to be an entertainer.”

He performed Calum Scott’s song Biblical at AGT: All-Stars 2023.
