LPBW’s Matt Roloff Reveals Zach Is Undergoing Major Surgery
The patriarch of Little People, Big World, Matt Roloff, shared some disturbing news with fans as he revealed his son Zach Roloff will be having surgery. The father and son duo have been at odds for over a year due to a miscommunication about selling the family farm. Even though Zach and Matt don’t seem as close as before, the father of four is trying his best to show his support.
Little People, Big World‘s Matt Roloff took to his Instagram recently to share some private news regarding his son, Zach. The patriarch posted a live-action photo of Zach wearing a baseball cap and playing with his two older children, Lilah Ray and Jackson. Matt noted that he has been in “constant” communication with the family since Zach is having a shunt revision done.
Little People, Big World fans will recall Zach had issues with his shunt in earlier seasons and had surgery to correct those. The purpose of the shunt is to have it surgically placed in the brain to help drain cerebrospinal fluid.
Little People, Big World’s Tori Roloff Asks For Prayers
A worried Tori took to her Instagram Story to share that even though she “hesitated” to share the news with Little People, Big World fans, she firmly believed in the power of prayer. The mother of three revealed that she and Zach were told the day before that Zach would require emergency surgery to repair his shunt, noting she was “nervous.” Tori added that while the doctors have all stated the surgery is routine, the procedure still feels “big” to the couple.

Matt himself always preached about how the land needed to stay in the family and become a generational hand-me-down. A few years ago, Amy Roloff sold her share of the farm back to her ex-husband with the expectation that he would then pass it on to their sons. Sadly, negotiations broke down, and tensions ran high between Zach, Tori, Matt, and Caryn Chandler, ultimately with both parties walking away and a clear line in the sand drawn.
Zach has had more than one surgery while starring on Little People, Big World. In 2007, he underwent surgery on his knees to try and help with the constant pressure and pain. At the time, Zach had his legs broken in three places and a rod inserted to help straighten his limbs. In 2006, Zach became extremely ill with severe headaches and vomiting. After being rushed to the hospital, he was told he would undergo a three-hour surgery after discovering that he had a fluid build-up from his malfunctioning shunt. Hopefully, Zach has a speedy recovery and that fans receive more updates from the family.
