LEGO® City Builder Exhibit Opens in Boston

I recently had the honor of attending the Ribbon Cutting and opening of the awesome, new LEGO® City Builder Exhibit at the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston. I brought along with me the 3 kiddos that spend each work day with, Kaelyn, age 10, Patience, 5, Colin age 4. Not only did we get to see Master Model Builder Megan Amaral cut the ribbon with a group of really cool kids called the Creative Crew, all who had a hand in the makings of the exhibit, we were able to take in the entire magic of LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston.

As you arrive and walk into the lower level of LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston, the happy excitement of children and adults alike is already building. I loved that the gift shop is separated from the entrance. It is so hard to hit that temptation before you even hit the main attraction. When we arrived, the looks on the faces of the kids were priceless. For Colin, the youngest who is vision impaired and LOVES LEGOS® saw the colors were everywhere and they were off! We spent time before the big event exploring the many areas of bright, colored hands-on areas that included a LEGO® Kitchen, Toddler Area, a 4D Studios Movie Cinema, a LEGO® Mini Land in which you can build with replicas of the Boston Landmarks and so much more.

Then, the time came to head into a new area where the Ribbon Cutting was being held. The "LEGO® City Builder space is so cool Jen-Jen" said Kaelyn, age 10. I have to agree and then some. With boxes and containers built into the display, filled with all colors and sizes of clean and enticing LEGO®, you can't help but want to start to build. The LEGO® City Builder has sections that include beaches, cafes, huge skyscrapers, Public Safety areas like fire and police stations and even a LEGO® Friends area too. For both of the girls 30-45 minutes of playtime and hands-on, creative fun happened before heading back to the rest of the creativity and entertainment that was to be had! For Colin, with his vision issues and amazing talent with LEGO®s he was in heaven. There were so many buckets filled with small, colorful pieces and no one telling to move or get his face out of their way - he needs to be so close in order to see. The staff members were wonderful and he was able to spend over an hour. He would have stayed all day.

The kiddos rode on a super fun ride, peddling away as they went up in the sky, crawled through a tunnel and ropes play area, played a Lazer obstacle game and ended our evening with the movie although they would have stayed longer if they could. Colins parting words were, "I wish I brought my jammies and pillow, I would sleep in the LEGO®s forever!"

I am so looking forward to our next visit as they have not stopped asking when it will be. Definitely a great way to spend a few hours with your LEGO® loving kids!
