Komi Can’t Communicate season 2 release date confirmed for Netflix
The hit anime Komi Can’t Communicate will return for season 2 sooner than expected, with the release date now being confirmed by Netflix!
2021 was a fantastic year for anime fans and specifically anime fans on Netflix, who finally got their first simulcast titles on the platform; Blue Period and Komi Can’t Communicate.
The addition of weekly releases to the streaming platforms library of anime content is a welcomed one, even if the international launch lags slightly behind the domestic broadcast.
Episode 12 of the fantastic Komi Can’t Communicate series premiered around the world on the Netflix platform in early January, following its domestic conclusion in December 2021.
However, fans of the series will be delighted to know that the domestic and international release dates have now been confirmed for Komi Can’t Communicate season 2.
An important anime for Netflix fans
As previously stated, Komi Can’t Communicate was one of the two new anime on Netflix to utilise the simulcast release format. This is where Netflix releases weekly episodes of a series that is currently airing on domestic television in its original territory – in this case, Japan.
Previously, only a few genres of streaming content were releasing new episodes weekly; mainly Korean dramas. However, it was not a direct simulcast release, with the domestic broadcast for the Komi Can’t Communicate anime being two weeks ahead of the Netflix schedule.
The series reached its domestic conclusion on December 23rd, with the season 1 finale (episode number 12) releasing around the world via Netflix on January 6th, 2022.
Thankfully, fans of the series can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the future of Komi Can’t Communicate is as bright as the character themselves.

Komi Can’t Communicate season 2 confirmed by OLM
It’s excellent news for fans of the Komi Can’t Communicate anime, the series has indeed been renewed for season 2 by Studio OLM, the production team behind the show!
The announcement was made on December 22nd, one day before the season one finale premiered on Japanese television networks, via the series’ official website.
However, not many fans will be too surprised that Komi Can’t Communicate will return for a second season of making new friends, barring to the series’ popularity and availability of source material.
Despite chopping and changing the order of events, the first anime season ended by adapting up until the sixth volume of the original manga by Tomohito Oda.
The good news is that, at the time of writing, 24 manga volumes have been published in Japan, with the 25th set to launch in April. This means that there is plenty of source material available for at least three more full anime seasons!
Popularity is also something that fans shouldn’t be concerned about, with the anime proving to be incredibly popular with fans around the world. At the time of writing, Komi Can’t Communicate is scoring an impressive 8/10 on IDMB and 8.09/10 on MyAnimeList with over 237,000 reviews.

So, now that we know Komi Can’t Communicate will return for season 2, what date will it release worldwide?
Komi Can’t Communicate season 2 release date confirmed
Alongside confirmation that Komi Can’t Communicate had already been renewed for season 2, it was revealed that the hit anime series would be making its return in April 2022.
In early March, it was then revealed that season 2 episode 1 of the popular show would be broadcast in Japan on April 6th, 2022 – technically April 7th as the programming block starts from 12 AM JST.
The quick turnaround for Komi Can’t Communicate is surely thanks to both the availability of source material and the nature of having several ‘mini-episodes’ in each broadcast; similar to The Way of the Househusband.
However, fans outside Japan should note that this April 6th premiere will only concern the launch of the second broadcast domestically.
Thankfully, Netflix finally confirmed this week that the release date for Komi Can’t Communicate season 2 episode 1 had been set for Wednesday, April 27th.
Netflix revealed this launch date, which will be three weeks after the domestic broadcast, through a brand-new teaser trailer, see below.
A full breakdown of the specific release time for new episodes will be shared closer to the April 27th Netflix premiere.
