Keith Levene musician and founding member of both The Clash and Public Image Ltd (PiL) passed away on 11 November 2022, Friday. Fortunately, Keith died after battling with Liver Cancer. He died in his home Norfolk and lost his life at the age of 65’s. 

Keith’s death was announced by author and writer Adam Hammond. He posted-

“It is with great sadness I report that my close friend and legendary Public Image Limited guitarist Keith Levene passed away on Friday 11th November.”

How Did Keith Die?

Keith passed away on 11 November 2022. He died after battling Liver Cancer in his home Norfolk.

Keith was born on 18 July 1957 in London, England was a rock fan at a young age. He began working as a roadie for Yes on their Close to the Edge tour at the age of fifteen, and as a founding member joined The Clash and The Flowers of Romance (1976), and released band’s first album What’s My Name in 1977. He went on to achieve greater success with PiL.

He met Mick Jones and formed The Clash in 1976, and singer Joe Strummer also joined the group, and they released their first debut album in 1977.

Keith co-founded Public Image Ltd (PiL) with singer John Lydon in 1983 and released the band’s album, This Is What You Want… This Is What You Get since he began releasing tracks under his own label.

Keith released an autobiography titled I Was a Teen Guitarist for the Clash in the year 2015.
