Judge orders immediate demolition of Rock Island County Courthouse

Update: Valley Construction has now confirmed with Local 4 News that they have been notified.

There has been no date set for demolition.

Update: Local 4 News recieved an anonymous tip that Valley Construction is supposed to proceed with demolition tomorrow. 

Valley Construction tells Local 4 News they have not received official notice yet to proceed.

Original Story: A signed court order is calling for the immediate demolition of the Rock Island County Courthouse.

Judge Walter Braud, Chief Circuit Judge of Rock Island County has confirmed with Local 4 News that he has signed an order to demolish the old courthouse.

Local 4 News is working to get the written court order and will update the story as soon as possible.
