A 21-year-old girl alleged that this year in April and May that she was gang-raped twice by Jitendra Narain with another bureaucrat. The Ministry get a report on 16 October 2022, from Andaman and Nicobar Police concerning the alleged physical assault of a woman by Jitendra Narain, the then Chief Secretary, of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and others.

The Victim Made These Allegations
The lady alleged that she was offered liquor at the residence of Jitendra Narain which she refused. The victim said that they had assured her of a government job, but she was later physically abused by 2 men. The lady alleged that 2 weeks later she was again called to the chief secretary’s residence and then physically assaulted. The Vitim said that she was threatened that she would have to face dire consequences if she told the matter to anyone.

As the Report designated the chances of grave misconduct and misuse of the position on the part of IAS Jitendra Narain, the Union Home Minister ordered to take immediate strict action against the IAS officer concerned as per law,” the ministry said in a statement.
Accordingly, IAS Jitendra Narain, has been put down under suspension with immediate effect and disciplinary proceedings have been ordered against him,” the ministry statement added.
Andaman & Nicobar Police, has filed an FIR, and action in the criminal case is being taken individually by the SIT (Special Investigation Team).
