Jim Walsh Obituary: Jim Walsh, a former general counsel for VGM Group Inc., passed away in Waterloo, Iowa. At the age of 74, he lost his brave battle with cancer on Thursday, October 12, 2023. “Sad News – Jim Walsh passed away Thursday night. Jim was my mentor for the past 23 years. He was a visionary in business, law, development and much more. He was a co-founder of VGM with his best friend Van G Miller, and the two of them not only had a lot of fun but also built an amazing business. Also Jim redeveloped much of downtown Waterloo with purpose and vision. Funny, smart, understanding, proud dad and grandpa, bold and larger than life Rest easy now, Jim.”

Jim Walsh Career

The founding of JSA Development by Jim in 1999 was a watershed event because it started with the purchase of the prestigious law firm Clark, Butler, Walsh, and Hamann’s current location at 315 E 5th Street.
