Jason Gillenwater Pacifica Murder, Colma Firefighter Dies by Suicide in Ukiah

Jason Gillenwater Death, Obituary: Jason Gillenwater, who served as a Colma firefighter and paramedic, has passed away. Jason’s death was confirmed on December 22, 2023, after he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Ukiah.

Gillenwater assaulted his ex-wife and her lover at her Pacifica home on Thursday morning, killing the boyfriend. Following the Pacifica stabbing, officials tracked Gillenwater to Oakland and eventually found him dead in Mendocino County, according to ABC 7.

The California Highway Patrol’s Officer Alex Kimball confirmed that the victim died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and that no police officers fired any shots.

Gillenwater, a Colma fireman and paramedic, has recently been involved in a legal dispute. He was suspended from his paramedic responsibilities earlier this month after being arrested for domestic abuse at the same address.

Law enforcement had been tracking Gillenwater all day following the stabbing at his ex’s home in Pacifica and had tracked him into Oakland before eventually finding him dead in Mendocino County.

The stabbings happened just before 8 a.m. at the house on Naomi Avenue and Reina Del Mar Avenue.
