Is Molly Cobb Dead? Is Sonya Walger Leaving For All Mankind?
In the last episode of season 3, Molly is asked to do something important at the Johnson Space Center.
Molly is in danger, though, because of something bad. Here’s everything you need to know about whether or not Molly lives through the heartbreaking season 3 finale of “For All Mankind” and how the character’s fate will affect Sonya Walger’s time on the show. SPOILERS AHEAD!
Is Molly Cobb gone?
In the first season of “For All Mankind,” Molly Cobb is first seen. She is one of the pilots who is learning to be an astronaut. Eventually, she will be the first American woman to go into space and land on the Moon. But at the end of the second season, she starts to lose her eyesight after being exposed to radiation in space. In the third season, Molly is in charge of the Astronaut Office, and she and Margo Madison are arguing about who should be in charge of NASA’s mission to Mars. Molly makes a decision, but Margo goes around her and makes Danielle Poole the Mission Head. Because of this, Molly quits her job and lives as a retiree.
Later, Karen goes to see Molly to ask for advice about her job. In the last episode of Season 3, “Stranger in a Strange Land,” Molly is asked by her friend Ed Baldwin to go to the Johnson Space Center. Molly shows Ed how to land in a tricky way that saves his life. Molly is hurt, though, when a bomb goes off outside the Johnson Space Center. She tries to help the people who are still alive. The last time anyone saw her, she was helping an analyst get out of the JSC. In the end, a newspaper article confirms that Molly died while trying to help the other people. In honor of Molly, the JSC is getting a new name.
Are Sonya Walger and For All Mankind breaking up?
In “For All Mankind,” Sonya Walger plays the part of Molly Cobb. Walger is listed as a regular cast member for the first season of the show. In the second season, she was made a main cast member, and in the third season, she is still a main cast member. Walger is probably best known for her role as Penelope “Penny” Widmore in the mystery drama series “Lost.” People may also know the actress as Madeline Stern from the TV show “Power.”
Molly Cobb, played by Walger, is an important character in the first two seasons of “For All Mankind.” However, in the third season, she is pushed to the side. When Molly’s eyesight gets worse, she becomes a minor character who doesn’t do much for NASA. So, in the season 3 finale, her character arc will come to a slow and dramatic end.
Molly helps save Ed Baldwin’s life in the episode, and she also helps save people after the explosion outside the JSC. So, Molly’s character arc ends on a high note because she died while trying to save other people. Molly’s death means that Sonya Walger’s time on the show is over. Even though the show’s creators and Walger haven’t officially said that she’s leaving, it’s unlikely that she’ll be in the upcoming fourth season of “For All Mankind.” The next movie we’ll see her in is the thriller “New Life.”
