Alex Pereira, a well-known Brazilian kickboxer who is number six in the world and number one in Brazil and Latin America, has become a Muslim.

He is part of the indigenous people of Brazil. Alex’s younger sister, Aline Pereira, plays sports for Glory.

On September 3, 2021, UFC bought Pereira. At UFC 268, which took place on November 6, 2021, he fought Andreas Michailidis for the first time as a pro. In the second round, he won by a technical knockout. He won the Performance of the Night prize because of this.

Bruno Silva and Pereira fought at UFC Fight Night 203 on March 12, 2022. Pereira hit Silva harder in all three rounds, which led to a unanimous decision win.

Pereira went on to fight in 15 Glory Kickboxing matches. He went 11-4 in those fights, beating well-known fighters like Sahak Parparyan, Dustin Jacoby, Simon Marcus twice, Yousri Belgaroui twice, Jason Wilnis, and Artem Vakhitov.

In 2016 and 2017, he beat UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya twice in fights for the Chinese promotion Glory Of Heroes. As of 2021, he has a 33–7 record in kickboxing, with 21 wins coming from a stoppage.

He also won the Glory Kickboxing World Middleweight, Interm Middleweight, and Light Heavyweight Championships. In 2015, he was the WGP Kickboxing Middleweight Champion. Alex’s sister, Aline Pereira, is a pro kickboxer.
