How to use custom dictionaries in word 2013
I just mistakenly added a word to my “custom” dictionary and now I can’t find this custom dictionary to remove the word.
I’ve tried the main online suggestions to no avail.
I’ve found default.dic under the roaming directory. It contains nothing but: #LID 10333, whatever that means. It has no words in it at all.
There’s also a default.exc in the same folder under Spelling, en-us, but it has nothing in it at all.
There’s also a file called Default.acl, but it says it’s an auto-correct list, so I guess it wouldn’t contain a word that I added by accident
Any suggestions how I can unearth this mysterious custom dictionary would be appreciated, so that I can remove the word that I incorrectly added to it

When I do that, here’s a picture of what I get.
When I highlight RoamingCustom.dic and click on Edit Word List, there’s nothing to be seen except my name (not the word that I’m trying to delete).
When I highlight default.dic, the “edit word list” option remains greyed out.

>> When I highlight RoamingCustom.dic and click on Edit Word List,
I double checked it with a misspelled word before i posted and that is where the word went.
In File, Accounts – what is your version & build – include the text that follows the version & build #.

Here’s what that link says:
To remove a word from a custom dictionary, open the Custom Dictionaries dialog, select the appropriate dictionary, and click Modify. Select the incorrect word, click Delete, then click OK.
That’s not helping, though, because the custom dictionaries I see have no words in them. But I know I’ve added a misspelled word to it, since my spellcheck is suddenly not flagging that word, though I would like it to continue to do so.

I should mention that I didn’t add the word in Word — I am using a subtitling program that uses Word spellcheck. So I added the word using the Word spellcheck interface, but while checking a file outside of Word itself. This word of mine is definitely added somewhere, since Word is suddenly ignoring it in my subtitle files, although it’s a word that was always flagged in the past.
Not sure if this is the number you mean, but here’s what I see at the top of the “about” page.

I’ll have to step out for a bit. Thanks for any further ideas that anyone might have.
