You don’t need Apple software, to access iCloud-based calendar emails and events on Windows 10. Tools for accessing both applications are integrated into the operating system. All you need to do is add your iCloud account to the Mail app.

Remember that you will need to take an extra step if your iCloud account uses two-factor authentication. This basically prevents hackers from accessing your account if they get a password. Apple doesn’t always play nice with other ecosystems, but you can access iCloud on Android with the right apps.

Switching From iPhone to Android Is Easier Than You Think

If you’re reluctant about switching to Android from iPhone, this is completely understandable. After all, they are completely different platforms, with zero cross compatibility.

Quite a bit of iCloud is actually available on Android through your web browser. You probably use Chrome, but any of the current browsers should work for this. Simply go to and sign in with your Apple ID.

Here, you’ll be able to access Apple Mail, reminders, notes, and stripped-down versions of Pages and Numbers. This basic level of functionality is useful particularly if you are jumping between iPhone and Android (perhaps due to having one for home nd one for work).

1. How to Access iCloud Emails on Android

Every Android device comes with the Gmail app, and you can configure this to access your iCloud email account. (Other email apps will also let you get iCloud mail on Android.)

Start by generating an app password for your iCloud email:

1. Head to the Apple ID page and sign in
2. On the Manage page, look for Sign-in and Security
3. Click App-specific passwords, then Generate an app-specific password

Next, on your Android phone:

1. Open Gmail and tap your email profile icon (usually a profile picture, or company logo)
2. Scroll to Add another account
3. Choose Other then enter your iCloud email address and tap Next
4. Add the password you just created, then Next

Gmail will do the rest. Moments later, you’ll see your iCloud mail account in the Gmail app. You can now check iCloud emails on Android, as well as reply to any messages.

2. Syncing iCloud Contacts to Android

Syncing your contacts between iCloud and Android is relatively straightforward.

1. Open the iCloud website in your browser and click Contacts.
2. Click the gear button
3. Select all of your contacts (or a specific group by holding CTRL as you left-click)
4. Click the gear button again and select Export vCard

If you don’t use the Google contacts (e.g. you use the Samsung alternative), copy the vCard file to your Android phone or tablet (perhaps using a USB cable, or cloud sync) then import it into your contacts app.

3. Viewing iCloud Calendar on Android

You can publish your iCloud calendar contents to Google Calendar, but note that this is a one-way sync. Any changes made in Google Calendar will not be reflected in iCloud. This shouldn’t be a problem if you’re switching completely to Android, however.

Note also that the two systems aren’t fully compatible, so Google Calendar will not display all of the information that iCloud stores.

Syncing your notes from Apple’s useful Notes app to your Android device is simple, though it comes with some limitations.

1. On your iPhone, open Settings > Passwords and accounts
2. Click Add Account to add your Google account
3. Authenticate your account, then return to the Passwords and accounts screen
4. Select the Google account and tap the Notes slider
5. In the Notes app, look for the Gmail header
6. All notes under this header will sync to the Gmail app, so move notes as necessary
7. In Android, open Gmail and find the Notes label on the left
8. Your Apple Notes should be synced to here

This isn’t the smoothest way of doing things, but it gets your notes onto Android quickly. Of course, you cannot edit the notes, as they now appear as emails. You also cannot sync them them using this method.

Of course, you can always switch to an alternative note taking app and have your notes available wherever you are, on any device, to read and edit.

5. View iCloud Photos on Android

While there is no iCloud for Android app, all the photos you’ve snapped on your old iPhone can be accessed on Android via the iCloud website.

As before, simply open the site in your favorite Android browser and view them in the web app. Here, you can view the photos and even download them.

Windows 10 fully supports syncing the built-in Calendar and People apps with a CalDAV and CardDAV server like the one provided with your account. This functionality is restricted to select Microsoft partners including Apple, Google, and Yahoo. However, you can use a work-around to sync Windows 10 Calendar and People apps with your account.

Because this setup is not sanctioned by Microsoft, and it requires a workaround, this configuration is not supported by SILO or the State Library. However if you wish to implement this, you may find the following information useful:

1. Start Windows 10 Mail.
2. In the left column, click the Accounts option.
3. In the right column under Manage Accounts, click the Add account option.
4. Click the iCloud option.

Current Compatibility Issues

This configuration of Windows 10 Mail, Calendar, and People uses two different accounts: one for email and another for calendar and people. As a result you will not be able to send meeting invitations or respond to meeting requests via the Mail or Calendar apps. Always send meeting invitations and respond to meeting requests from Webmail, because the email and calendar features are more tightly integrated. If your calendar events are displayed correctly, your settings are correct and you can click the Dismiss button. If your events are not displayed, click the Fix account button, and check all your account settings against the settings listed in the steps above.
• The categories of phone number and email addresses (mobile, home, personal, work, etc.) may not synchronize correctly between devices. The actual numbers and addresses will synchronize, but each vendor uses different category names, so these may not synchronize correctly on each device.
• Contacts imported into your account through SILO Webmail before you setup the People app, may not be displayed in the People app.

On iCloud.com, you can access all your backed up and synced Apple iCloud content, search for a lost iPhone, manage your passwords, and change account settings.

Apple’s cloud-based storage service lets you back up and synchronize email, calendar, contacts, photos, and files. You can access iCloud features from an iPhone or iPad, a Mac through System Preferences, and Windows PCs through the free iCloud for Windows desktop app. But there’s also an iCloud web page, where you can manage all synced files, locate a missing mobile device, set up passwords, and check your mail, calendar, photos, and other items.

Access iCloud Apps on iCloud.com

To access your iCloud account on the web, navigate to icloud.com. If you set up two-factor authentication with your Apple ID, you will be prompted to enter a verification code. Your iCloud page displays all the applications and tools supported by the service. These include Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Photos, iCloud Drive, Notes, Reminders, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and Find iPhone. A link to your Account Settings also appears.

To access these apps and view their respective data on the web, you’ll need to make sure you’re syncing the data with iCloud. On your iPhone, navigate to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. Under apps using iCloud, turn on the switch for those you’d like to sync.

iCloud Apps and Services

Click the Mail icon to view your iCloud mail account, where you can organize items and send or delete messages.

Click the Contacts icon to view all the contacts in the address book that you’re syncing with iCloud. You can also create new contacts as well as modify or delete existing ones.

Click the Calendar icon to view your calendar appointments as well as create new ones and delete or modify existing ones.

By clicking Photos, you can view any photos being synced with iCloud. You can also upload new photos, delete or download existing photos, and share any photos via email or Facebook.

Click iCloud Drive to view and open any files you have stored in your iCloud Drive, Apple’s file-syncing and storage service. You can also email, download, and delete any file as well as upload new files and create new folders to house those files.

You can click the Notes icon to view any notes backed up to iCloud as well as create new notes and revise or delete existing ones.

Click the Reminders icon to view your reminders, create new reminders, and modify or delete existing reminders.

By selecting the Pages, Numbers, or Keynote icons, you can create new documents for each program or view and manage any files stored in iCloud.

If you lose your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac, click Find iPhone to view a map that shows the location of all your Apple devices. To use this feature, you need to activate Find My iPhone on your iPhone or iPad via Settings > [Your Name] > Find My.

Manage Account Settings

You can access settings by clicking the Account Settings link under your picture. This will show your existing storage, any Apple devices registered to your Apple ID, iCloud+ features, and Family Sharing options. You can also restore any files, contacts, calendars, reminders, and bookmarks that have been deleted from iCloud.

To do this, click one of the links at the bottom of the page in the Advanced section. Click Restore Files, Restore Contacts, Restore Calendars, or Restore Bookmarks, then click Restore next to any items you wish to bring back.

The Account Settings screen will also allow you to sign out of any browsers that you are currently signed into by clicking Sign Out Of All Browsers at the very bottom of the screen.

Certain apps also allow people to find you based on your Apple ID. If you want to see which apps allow this or want to turn this capability off, click Manage Apps That Can Look You Up.

iCloud for Windows

Windows users can also turn to a desktop application that provides all the same capabilities. Apple’s iCloud for Windows app gives you the ability to manage iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, and bookmarks for Chrome and Firefox, as well as a password manager.

You also get shortcuts for Contacts, Calendar, Mail, and Notes added to the Start menu and iCloud Drive and iCloud Photos folders in File Explorer for easy access. Click on any of these shortcuts to open the iCloud website.

The iCloud password manager means those who already use iCloud Keychain on their mobile device to store and sync passwords can expand the reach to Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. To get started, make sure the box next to iCloud Passwords is checked, then click Install Extension next to Edge or Chrome.

Follow the instructions to install the browser extension and any passwords you use will be synced across Safari, Edge, and Chrome on all your other devices. If you remove or change any passwords, they will then be synced across devices and browsers.

The reason why Windows 10 Mail App rejects icloud password

Apple has changed recently their security policies pushing users to use two-factor authentication or two steps sign in. You probably have enabled the two-factor authentication on your iCloud without knowing it is the main reason why you can’t get iCloud to work in Windows 10 Mail App.

What is that mean? To allow access to your iCloud emails to an application that isn’t owned by apple, you’ll need to generate an app-specific password to add your iCloud account to the Mail app or Outlook. Step 2: Within your apple account

1. Go to and sign in with your Apple ID (iCloud email address & Password).
2. You may have to verify your identity by confirm the pass code which Apple will send to your trusted device – iPhone or iPad etc.

Once signed in Go to Security Tab and click on Generate Password – Entre the password label and click Create An app-specific password will be created : eklk-vkmd-egiv-bhvq

Copy the generated password and use it temporarily to add your iCloud account to Windows 10 Mail App or Outlook App.

Step 1: Within Mail App – How to add iCloud Email on Windows 10

The iCloud app for Windows has been available for a long time. It lets you sync files, Photos, bookmarks from your iPhone to the Windows PC and vice-versa. However, this doesn’t comprise of emails and calendar events. To do that, you have to set up your Apple Email account on your Windows system. Here’s how you do it.

How to Sync Your iCloud Calendar With Windows 10

First of all, download and install the Microsoft Mail and Calendar app from the Microsoft store. Open the app and skip to this section. In case you have been already using the Microsoft Mail app, we would need to add another Email account. For that, click on the gear icon at the bottom-left corner.

From the Settings menu slide out, click on Manage Accounts.

Once the Manage Accounts menu slides in, click on “Add account”.

On the Add new Account menu, you would have all the supported email providers. In our case, it is Apple, so click on “iCloud”.

Now before we enter the sign-in credentials, you need to check if your Apple account has two-factor authentication turned on. If you don’t have two-factor authentication, enter the default Apple Mail credentials. But, if you do, the default password won’t work for you. We would have to generate a third-party app password. To do that, head over to the Apple ID Account Settings. Navigate to the security section and click on “Generate password” under the App-specific password label.

A pop-up will appear asking you to create a label for this password. You can have any random name for it, I am naming it as “Windows Mail”. Next, click on the Create button and you would see a 16-word long password generated. Copy and paste it somewhere as you won’t be able to recover this password later.

Head over to the Microsoft Mail sign-in box and enter the third-party app password we generated. Apart from that, enter your Apple Email ID and an account name.

In case, you get a sign-in error like below, make sure you have entered the correct credentials. If the problem persists, head over to this section for further troubleshooting.

Once you are successfully logged in, your emails will appear under the Microsoft Mail Window. Additionally, your calendar events will be synced from your Windows PC to the iPhone and vice-versa.

To see your calendar events, click on the Calendar icon at the bottom-left side. This will open a new window wherein you can view your local Microsoft account and Apple Mail events.

Unlike me, if you use only the Apple Email account, you would be better off switching the rest of the calendars to avoid confusion. Foremost, disable the local Microsoft Calendar by unchecking the Calendar at the bottom left. Post that, you would see events only from your Apple account.

You can also quickly add events to your iPhone calendar from the Windows 10 taskbar. To do that, click on the clock time at the bottom right and add your events on the textbox just below the calendar.

Once the events are synced, you can see the same on your iPhone in the iOS calendar app or the widget screen.

How to resolve Microsoft Mail Error

The “0x80004005” error could possibly have multiple reasons. One of them could be due to the developer version of the Mail app. To enroll out of it, you can simply run a Powershell command on the Windows Powershell app. Make sure you run it as an Administrator since the command requires elevated permissions.

Copy and paste the following command in Powershell window and hit Enter. In case you face any error, make sure you close all the instances of the Microsoft Mail app.

Post that, restart your computer system and on startup, try to login to your Apple account again. If the issue still persists, do a reset of the Mail app through the app settings. Head over to the Start menu and type Mail. From the populated search results, select Mail and click on “App Settings”.

Once the settings menu pops up, navigate to the bottom of the page and click on the Reset button.

Resetting the Mail app will remove all your email account and preferences.

After the app reset, try logging in with your Apple account and probably things should work fine.

Most aren’t familiar with Apple’s own email service with the iCloud domain. If you have created an Apple account with the iCloud domain, you can use the same email ID on Windows using the Outlook email app. Here’s how you can integrate and use an iCloud email with Outlook.

Once you set up an iCloud email with the Outlook app on Windows, you can access the iCloud calendar, iCloud tasks, and iCloud contacts from the same app. It brings the Apple and Windows ecosystem closer than ever. Download iCloud App for Windows

As a part of cross-platform availability, Apple has made the iCloud app accessible on Windows. The app is readily available to download from the Microsoft Store on Windows.

Step 1: Open Microsoft Store on Windows.

Step 2: Search for iCloud and open the app info menu.

Step 3: Hit the Get button and install the app on Windows.

After a successful download process, it’s time to set up the iCloud app on Windows.

Use iCloud Email with Outlook

Open the iCloud app and you will see the iCloud email appearing on the left sidebar. Expand the iCloud menu and you can check Inbox, Deleted Items, Sent Items, Drafts, and more.

You can hit the New Email button at the top and compose an email. Here are all the major functions you get using iCloud email with Outlook.

iCloud Calendar: You can go to the Calendar menu and see iCloud Calendars such as Work, Home, and Family appearing for with events.

On Windows 10, you can set up iCloud Email in Outlook 2016 (Preview) by using iCloud for Windows (formerly known as ‘iCloud control panel’). Beside iCloud Email, you can also set up iCloud Calendars, iCloud contacts and iCloud tasks in Outlook 2016 (Preview) on Windows 10 (Insider Preview, build number 10074 tested).

Update December 7, 2015: iCloud for Windows 5.1 supports Outlook 2016. Update iCloud for Windows now to access your iCloud Mail, iCloud Contacts, iCloud Calendars, iCloud reminders and tasks in Outlook 2016. iCloud notes are not supported. However, some people face problems with setting up iCloud email (@me.com account) in the Windows 10 mail app and/or in Outlook 2016 on Windows 10. I’ve also reported how it works for the Windows mail app on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and for Outlook 2013 on Windows 10. But how does it work for Outlook 2016 on Windows 10? Officially, iCloud for Windows supports only Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. and iCloud email, calendars, contacts and task require Outlook 2007 or later to be shown in iCloud for Windows. Despite this, you can set up iCloud email in Outlook 2016 on Windows 10 as well if the outgoing server (SMTP) is set on TLS!

The set up steps are the following:

Download and install iCloud control panel on your Windows PC. Open iCloud control panel and sign in with your Apple ID and password. Next, check the box ‘Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks with Outlook’ and click on ‘Start’. The Syncing will take a while. After the syncing has finished click on ‘OK’.

It is very important to switch on SSL for IMAP and TLS for SMTP! After clicking on ‘OK’ iCloud email, calendars, contacts and tasks in Outlook 2016 on Windows 10 should work now.

6. Then you’ll need to sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID & password.
7. Thereafter, select the Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks (with Outlook) checkbox within the iCloud window.
   
8. Select the Apply option to sync the Apple Calendar.
9. Next, open your Outlook software.
10. Click the Calendar button in Outlook.
11. You should be able to see an iCloud checkbox in Outlook. That checkbox must be checked for you to view your Apple Calendar in Outlook.

3. Log in to iCloud web app

1. Open the iCloud page in a browser, and sign in with your Apple credentials from there.
   
2. Then you can click Calendar within iCloud to view and update it from your Windows 10 browser.

Alternatively, you can log in to the iCloud web app to access Apple Calendar in Windows 10 by following the instructions from above.

Can I add only specific calendars?

iCloud for Windows always adds and synchronizes all iCloud calendars. You can easily hide a calendar in Outlook, though:

2. In the folder list, uncheck the calendar you want to hide.

If you use Mac, please note that only the web-based option will work as the system does not support direct import of CalDEV files. Here are the steps to connect your iPhone or Mac calendar data to Outlook desktop.

Try the iCloud App

Download and install the desktop version if you do not have it yet — get the software from the official website. Next, open the app and connect it to your Windows Mail account. The syncing will allow you to either link all calendars in bulk or sync specific ones only. Two steps are required: establishing the connection and launching the syncing.

Once the app is installed, log in to your iCloud account by entering the login and password. You will be presented with a list of syncing options.

Through the setup wizard, you may program the system to sync different features: your calendar, tasks, email, and contacts with Outlook. Select the data you want to connect. For the process to be completed, you will need to log into your Outlook account as well.

As a result, it will be possible to import iCloud Calendar to Outlook and view it from its web-based version or the app. This method is uncomplicated. If the syncing does not work, try the alternative approach.

Try the iCloud Web

The second way to export the iCloud Calendar is manual. You need to visit the official websites of both systems and adjust the settings. First, open your iCloud page and follow these steps.

Log in to your default account on the website. From the home page with the default account in data, you can access the calendar feature. Check that you have selected the right calendar for transfer.

At the side of each calendar, you will see a special icon providing file info. Click on it to launch the process provided that the calendar is public. This status makes it possible to view the unique URL of the item and copy it.

2. Add It to Outlook

Now, head to the official website of the mail client or use the Outlook app. Log in, click on the calendar icon that should now be available in the bottom panel. The Outlook Calendar feature will open. Find and click the Add Calendar feature at the top.

You will be presented with different import options. Choose import from the internet and insert the URL you copied in step 1. Give your iCloud calendar a name and wait for automatic syncing to be completed.

How to sync Outlook

To sync your Outlook calendar with your iPhone, follow these steps:

Step 1: Download Microsoft Outlook for iPhone.

Make sure you already have Outlook via your Microsoft subscription and know which Microsoft account it is connected to. Then use your iPhone to download Outlook for iOS. This is a free download that will allow you to use Outlook features right on your iPhone. It makes syncing your Outlook calendar on your iPhone very easy, but the download is essential, so start here!

iPad note: If you have an iPad, note that updates for Outlook on iOS have provided compatibility with iPad Split View. This is particularly useful for the Outlook calendar, because you can view an email and open up your calendar to make adjustments on the same screen, a feature we highly recommend.

Step 2: Log in and enable auto-sync.

Step 3: When the Outlook app is downloaded on your iPhone, go to iPhone Settings, then choose Passwords & Accounts. Select Add Account, and you will see compatible accounts for your iPhone.

Step 4: Look for the option and logo for Outlook.com (usually this is one of the first options).

Step 5: Input your Microsoft Account information to connect Outlook on iOS. You should be asked if you want to sync your calendars, in which case you should say yes. If not, you can go into the Outlook app in Settings at any time and make sure that calendar syncing is enabled.

If you’re logged in with the same Outlook account, any changes you make to your calendars will be synced to all your devices. That means if you add a new event or appointment on your PC, for example, a few seconds later it’ll appear on your iPhone. There’s no need to re-sync every time you create a new Outlook calendar event or change an appointment time.

Step 6: Import iCloud Calendar information if necessary.

It used to be difficult to sync iCloud information to apps like Outlook, but Apple has since improved iCloud and made this a bit easier. If you have calendar information stored in iCloud from previous calendar use that you want to import to Outlook Calendar, it’s now a relatively simple process.

Step 7: Log in to your iCloud. You can use iCloud for Windows to do this right from a Windows computer, which is less complicated than trying to do it from an iPhone.

Step 8: Then log in to your account and make sure to check only the box with Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks. Select Apply to move on.

Step 9: You can decide between syncing all the information from your calendar, contact, and tasks apps, or picking specific information to share. You can choose only to sync your calendar if you want to keep your work and play devices separate but still want the ability to access your full schedule in both. Outlook Calendar will then port the information and sync it to Outlook on iOS. You no longer have to juggle reminders and events from two calendars at once.

Step 10: Choose whether to sync all calendars on MacOS.

When using your iPhone, you can’t select which calendars you want to sync from Outlook on a Mac. That’s because Outlook keeps your information on the cloud, which prevents you from being selective. You can only control the calendar that’s stored locally on your laptop.

Step 11: It’s also possible to hide specific calendars, though, which you can do by launching Outlook on your iPhone. Once in the app, tap the calendar icon and then your account icon.

Step 12: Uncheck calendars you don’t want to view.

Apple and Microsoft OS were not friendly enough to synchronize iCloud calendars on Windows Operating system. Apple hesitates to break its echo system and limited real-time synchronization and other features in between MAC and iOS devices.

Apple released its application for Windows users to integrate iCloud features with Windows OS. Unfortunately, “iCloud for Windows” failed to give the same user experience that enjoyed by Mac users.

The setup procedure to sync iCloud calendars in Windows 10 is straightforward, basically a two steps procedure. Once you setup iCloud on Windows, you can create events in Windows or iOS devices and both will sync each other within seconds, work like a charm.

Set up iCloud on Windows Calendar

Let’s see how to easy to bring the iCloud calendar to your PC. First, open the calendar app on the Windows 10 operating system. Now click on the Settings icon (gear) on Windows calendar at the left sidebar.

Add iCloud on Windows

To add iCloud calendar follow Windows Calendar > Settings > Manage Accounts > Add account > Choose an account > iCloud.

Now enter your iCloud email address ending with me.com. We found the calendar syncing with me.com rather than iCloud.com.

Enter iCloud Credentials

If you have an iCloud account with [email protected] , you can give [email protected] and type the same password that you use to login to your iCloud account. Click on Sign-in button and click on Done button on next window.

This will lead back you to the main Windows calendar screen. On the left sidebar you can see a new iCloud account that you added with all the primary and secondary iCloud calendars underneath it.

Add Secondary Calendars

These secondary iCloud calendars are not owned by the current user. Those are typically shared calendars from other users. Windows had the issue before for synching secondary iCloud calendars in early versions, but here everything was smooth like a breeze!

If you have multiple iCloud calendars, you can see all of them in one calendar tab, and you can turn off/on the calendars from Calendar sidebar.

Create iCloud Event on Windows Calendar

You can create new events on Windows Calendar by clicking left button on any date. You can fill out details here or click on more details to pop out as a new window.

On the new event window, under details, you can provide the title of the calendar. On the same place right side of the Title bar, you can select one of the iCloud calendars that you want to create a new event. Please fill out the other details and date before Save and close the new calendar window.

Once you click on the Save and close button, you can see the event created on the Calendar app. Now you can check the calendar app on your iPhone or iPad and see it synchronized the same event on your iDevice.

The final iCloud calendar will come with color-coded for each schedule, and the Windows Calendar app will look like above. This solution to synchronize iCloud calendar on Windows 10 is a pretty easy and smart decision from Microsoft. Those who like iPhone and Windows computer can sync their calendar in their system and iPhone in real-time.

How to Fix iCloud Sync Not Working Issue on Windows PC

In case you recently made changes in Outlook, which are not updating on your other devices, click Refresh in Outlook. Some Internet configurations don’t allow access to certain websites or services. Therefore, make sure iCloud Mail is not blocked by the Internet configurations.

Solution #1: Turn Off/On iCloud Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks

The first trick I would talk about is open iCloud for Windows on your desktop and turn off Contacts, Calendar, and Mail. And then turn them on.

Step #1. Launch iCloud on your PC, deselect Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks.

Step #2. Restart your computer.

Step #3. Now, open iCloud and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks. Next, click Apply → Next, open Outlook.

Solution #2: Make sure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active

With add-in feature, you can add custom commands and new features to Office programs. They help you carry out your tasks more efficiently; thereby boosting your productivity. Have you enabled iCloud add-in? If no, make sure to bring it into action.

In Outlook 2010 and later:

Step #1. First off, click the File menu → click Options in the left panel.

Step #2. Click Add-Ins at the left panel of the Outlook Options window.

Step #3. Check out the list of add-ins in the Active Application Add-Ins section.

Step #4. Now, you need to select iCloud Outlook Add-in.

In Outlook 2007:

From the Tools menu, select Trust Center. Now, click on Add-ins from the left column.

In the list of add-ins in the Active Application Add-Ins section, choose the iCloud Outlook Add-in.

Solution #3: Check your default account in Outlook

In Outlook 2010 and later, select File → Info → Account Settings → Data Files. If you have selected iCloud as default account in the Comments column, select a different account. Then, click Set as Default.

In Outlook 2007, select File → Data File Management → Data Files. If iCloud has been set as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account. Then, click Set as Default.

Solution #4: Sign Out of iCloud, Delete it, and then Reinstall

Step #1. Open iCloud for Windows and Sign Out.

Then, head over to the Start screen → right-click in the bottom-left corner → select Control Panel.

Step #2. Click Uninstall a Program.

Step #3. Click iCloud → Uninstall.

Now, reinstall the same.

This is because Outlook uses a standard CSV file format while iCloud uses vCard (.vcf) files. For a manual export from iCloud and import into Outlook you need to:

1. Go to to access your contacts list.
2. Click the Actions Menu on the bottom left corner and choose “Select All”, or choose only the contacts you want to export.
3. Click “Export vCard…” in the Actions Menu to download a vCard file.

1. Use a vCard (.vcf) to CSV (.csv) online converter, or follow this process from Microsoft.
2. Navigate to the “People” tab of Outlook Web> Manage > Import Contacts.
3. Upload the CSV you converted from your iCloud vCard file.

Export from Outlook and import to iCloud

It’s a similarly complicated process for moving contacts in the other direction from Outlook into iCloud:

1. Go to the “People” tab of Outlook Web.
2. Navigate to Manage > Export Contacts.

1. Download a CSV of the contacts you want to export.
2. Use a CSV (.csv) to vCard (.vcf) online converter.
3. Go to to access your contacts list.
4. Click the Actions Menu on the bottom left corner and choose “Import vCard” before selecting the vCard you converted from your Outlook CSV file.

As you can see, import/export is a pretty arduous process for moving contacts between iCloud and Outlook. Another drawback is that it offers a one-time data transfer that’s only reliable for the precise moment your data is exported. Let’s look at some more straightforward and effective solutions.

Use iCloud for Windows

iCloud for Windows is an app that’s specifically designed for you to use iCloud on your Windows devices. With iCloud for Windows, you can sync your mail and calendar as well as your contacts with Outlook, so both apps are kept up-to-date. Here’s how to get set up:

1. Download iCloud for Windows in the Microsoft Store.
2. Launch the app and sign in with your Apple ID and password.
3. Select the option to sync Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks, then click Apply.
4. After the setup has finished, launch Outlook. You should now be able to see your iCloud email, contacts, and calendars synced there.

iCloud for Windows is an effective way to keep both apps up-to-date, but it does lack the level of customization available with a dedicated syncing app as described in the previous option.

Connect iCloud and Outlook with your CRM

Managing contacts is not easy. As your business grows so do your databases, and this increasing number of business contacts needs constant updates.

Having two contact repositories like Outlook and iCloud working next to each other makes things even harder. So if you can, it’s better to select just one of them for all your business contacts.

Your CRM should be in sync with all the other systems where you or your team interact with contacts, including Outlook, iCloud, or both.

Even though I’m a Microsoft fanatic, I do love my Apple devices, like iPhone or iPad. That’s why I have an iCloud account. One of the benefits of an iCloud account is that you can easily share a calendar with other iCloud users. To make sure I don’t make any double booking in my planning, I use the iCloud software which integrates in my Microsoft Office Outlook Client.

As a Microsoft fanatic I’m a member of the Windows Insider Program and since 2015 running the fast ring releases. This results in often new builds / reinstallations of Windows 10. Which is not a problem if I can give feedback on the new builds and new features. But after every reinstallation of Windows 10 the local installed iCloud add-in in Outlook didn’t work anymore. The add-in disappeared from the Outlook Ribbon and although my iCloud calendars were still available, I couldn’t update them anymore… To fix it (quick and dirty), I removed the iCloud for Windows software and reinstalled iCloud for Windows again…. But unfortunately after several reinstallations even that didn’t work anymore…. So now what?
When troubleshooting this issue I found out that the iCloud add-in in Outlook was still in my add-in list, but it was inactive. Normally the iCloud add-in would show the load behavior, but in my case it showed ‘Deleted’ (verwijderd in Dutch).

So how to fix it?
The solution is pretty straight forward, but with a small twist: Elevated permissions. Below a step-by-step actionlist on how to fix this issue:

1. Shutdown Outlook

2. Start Outlook as Administrator

3. Go to File > Options > Add-ins

4. Click GO next to COM Add-ins

5. Select the iCloud Outlook Add-in and REMOVE it

(The iCloud add-in has been removed)

6. Close and restart Outlook as Administrator

7. Go back to File > Options > Add-ins

8. Click GO next the COM Add-ins

9. Click Add and find APLZOD32.DLL on your machine.

Default location of the DLL:> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\APLZOD32.dll

10. Close Outlook and then start Outlook normally (NOT as administrator).

You will notice that the iCloud add-in in Outlook works again 🙂 Even after a reboot, the add-in is still available and functioning.

Since Outlook doesn’t support the import of CalDEV files on Mac, only the web-based solution can be implemented on Mac. Here’s how you can add an iCloud calendar to Outlook via its app or website.

Method 1: Sync an iCloud Calendar with Outlook via its App

For this method to work, you just need to use the iCloud’s desktop application to link it to your Outlook account. In this, you can either sync all iCloud calendars or just select the calendars of your choice. To learn how to add an iCloud calendar to Outlook, just follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable Outlook sync in iCloud

If you don’t have the iCloud application installed on your Windows, then install it first by visiting its website. Afterward, launch the iCloud application and log-in to your active iCloud account by entering the right credentials. From the available options in the app, enable the feature to sync your contacts, mails, calendar, and tasks with Outlook.

Step 2: Select the data to sync with Outlook

This will open a dedicated setup wizard from where you can select what you wish to sync with your Outlook account. You would have to log-in to your Outlook account to complete the sync and can later access the iCloud calendar via Outlook web or its app.

Method 2: Add an iCloud Calendar to Outlook via iCloud Web

While using the desktop application to sync an iCloud calendar with Outlook, a lot of people encounter issues. In case your iCloud calendar is not syncing with Outlook, then do it manually by visiting the website of iCloud and Outlook. You can follow this simple drill to open an iCloud calendar in Outlook easily.

Step 1: Copy the iCloud Calendar link

Firstly, you can just visit the official website of iCloud on your computer and log-in to your account. From the provided options on its home, visit the “Calendar” feature and select the calendar you wish to export from the sidebar.

You can view a share icon at the side of each calendar. Just click on it and make sure that your iCloud calendar is marked as public. As you would enable the Public Calendar feature, a unique URL of the calendar would be displayed that you can copy from here.

Step 2: Add an iCloud Calendar to Outlook

Once the iCloud calendar link is copied, just go to the Outlook website and log-in to your account (or use the Outlook desktop application). Click on the calendar icon now that you can view from the bottom panel.

This will open a dedicated Calendar feature on Outlook. Now, to sync an iCloud calendar with Outlook, click on the “Add Calendar” option which is located at the top of the interface.

As different options to import a calendar would be provided, select the “from Internet” feature and simply paste the URL of the iCloud calendar that you earlier copied. Give your iCloud calendar a name and wait as it would automatically be synced with your Outlook account.

Part 2: How to Fix the iCloud Calendar not Syncing with Outlook Issue?

With the help of the above-listed techniques, you would be able to open an iCloud calendar in Outlook. Though, if the iCloud calendar is not syncing with Outlook, then you can try to troubleshoot it in the following way.

Fix 1: Check the Date and Time on linked devices

If your iCloud calendar is synced on multiple devices (like your PC and your iPhone), then you need to once check their data and time settings. If either of the devices has wrong settings, then it can cause iCloud calendar sync issues. Besides your system, you can also go to your iPhone’s Settings > General > Date and Time and make sure the feature is set to automatic.

Fix 2: Reset your iCloud account on the app

Chances are that the iCloud account might not be synced properly with the installed app. To fix this, you can just launch the iCloud application on your system and click on the “Sign Out” button. Log out of your account, restart your system, and sign back in to see if it fixes the iCloud calendar not syncing with Outlook issue.

Fix 3: Update the Apple Software on Windows

If you are trying to sync an iCloud calendar with Outlook on Windows, then this method can fix any unwanted issue. Just go to the Control Panel to view the installed app or look for “Apple” from the search option. From here, you can launch the Apple Software Update window and upgrade the installed firmware.

Fix 4: Add iCloud Calendar to Outlook via Web

As you can see, there are two different methods to sync an iCloud calendar with Outlook. If the iCloud calendar is not syncing with Outlook via its app, then consider the web-based approach. If your computer is in Windows 10, then there’s an easier method for you to view iPhone Calendars on PC. You can directly add your iCloud account to the Windows Outlook, then your iPhone calendar will automatically synced to the Outlook calendar. Here are the detailed steps:

• Click the Start button on your computer.
• Select the Settings app andВ click Accounts.
• Click Add an account, then select iCloud.
• Enter your iCloud email address and password, and Sign in.

When you have finished adding iCloud account, open Calendar on your Windows 10 PC, you will see your Apple calendar is automatically synced.

If you have enabled the iCloud two-factor authentication, you need to enter your Apple ID password when adding an account.
