Use calculator history: – The calculator application of Windows 10 is not as simple as seems to be. It has various features which makes it more powerful. It is a storehouse of standard algebraic calculations , and comes in various different flavors by providing us with choices like Scientific mode, Programmer mode or Standard mode. You can bring about the whole lot of the twisting and complex world of logarithms and scientific formulas by just providing the inputs to it, and there you are, it calculates it in seconds and provides you prompt answers. Another interesting feature of the Windows Calculator Application is the Converter. Every important units of measurement gets converted to each other, taking you away from the hectic task of remembering the equations.

Keeping track of your history will enable you to refer to your early calculations and make corrections wherever necessary. This history feature doesn’t require numerous number of clicks that is required in a physical scientific calculator. Here you get the history all at once. How to View History In Calculator App

Step 1: In order to start working the Calculator, navigate to the search bar near Start menu. Type on it Calculator and click on the application.

Step 2: By default, you find that it is set to the Standard mode. Perform some example calculations on it. This helps you perform standard algebraic operations like additions,multiplications etc.

Step 3: Move on the icon with three horizontal lines on the left. Here is where you get to choose the mode of operation.

Choose Scientific and the below image shows how it would work.For example,in order to get the value of Sin(30), type 30 on the Calculator and press the sin button. The corresponding result appears in seconds.

Step 4: Once you get the Calculator to Programmer mode, you can perform digital logics operations like AND,OR , XOR etc. Also the numbers will be represented in binary, octal or hexadecimal toward the top left.

• Type the number.
• Choose the options to perform option from the buttons at top like AND, OR,NOT.

Step 5: Now click on the icon next to the title of the Calculator mode. The icon will be somewhat similar to a clock. This represents the history of the calculator.

Let me represent you with an example

• Open the Calculator in Scientific mode.
• Perform random operations in it.
• Once you have completed a series of operations, click on the icon appearing like a clock next to SCIENTIFIC.
• You view the history towards the bottom.
• Use the arrow button to move up and down to node down your history. The below image represents how it will look like.

Step 6: Right click on the Calculator opened in your desktop to opt for Copy and Paste of the previous figures.

Step 7: Click on the delete icon on the bottom of the history to clear all the previous operations.

Windows 10 provides us with a very efficient and useful Calculator app, which not only performs the regular arithmetic calculations but it can be used for many other purposes. For example, the Calculator app can also be used to perform all the kinds of date calculations. In this article, we will explain to you the methods through which you can perform the date calculations using the Calculator app in Windows 10.

Performing the Date Calculations in Windows 10 Calculator

In order to perform the date calculations using the Calculator app in Windows 10, you can make use of any of the following two methods:

Calculate the difference between two dates using Windows Calculator

In this method, we will tell you how you can calculate the difference between two dates using the Calculator app in Windows 10. For doing this, you will need to perform the following steps:

Type calculator in the search section of your taskbar and click on the search result in order to launch the calculator app. The newly opened Calculator app is shown in the following image:

Click on the hamburger button as highlighted in the image shown above in order to launch a menu.

Now click on Date Calculation option from this menu as shown in the image below:

As soon as you will click on it, you will be able to see a new interface where you will be able to calculate the difference between two dates as shown in the following image:

You can easily select the two dates whose difference you want to calculate simply by using the calendars associated with the “From” and the “To” fields as shown in the image below:

As soon as you will select the two dates, the Calculator application will immediately display the difference between these two dates as highlighted in the following image:

Subtract days to or from a specified date using Windows Calculator

In this method, we will tell you how you can add or subtract days to or from a specified date using the Calculator app in Windows 10. For doing this, you will need to perform the following steps:

Type calculator in the search section of your taskbar and click on the search result in order to launch the calculator app. The newly opened Calculator app is shown in the following image:

Click on the hamburger button as highlighted in the image shown above in order to launch a menu.

Now click on Date Calculation option from this menu as shown in the image below:

Click on the dropdown list below the field of Date Calculation and select Add or Subtract dates from this list as highlighted in the following image:

As soon as you will click on it, the interface of the Calculator app will change as shown in the image below:

Now you can choose any of the radio buttons corresponding to the Add and Subtract fields in order to perform addition or subtraction operations respectively. You can choose any date of your choice from the calendar associated with the “From” field to which you want to add or subtract days. Finally, you can choose the number of days you want to add or subtract by using the dropdown lists corresponding to the fields of Years, Months and Days respectively.

In this example, I am going to add 60 days to the current date as highlighted in the following image:

As soon as you will select the number of days, the new date will appear on the screen which is obtained by adding 60 days to the current date as highlighted in the image shown below:

Conclusion

In this way, you can perform tedious date calculations within nanoseconds and that too without any difficulty using the Calculator app in Windows 10. This app is so convenient and easy to use that it hardly takes a few minutes to learn it and then you can do wonders with it.

Perform Date calculations using Windows Calculator

Open Calculator in your Windows 7 / 8 and click on View > Date Calculation. You can even use short cut CTRL + E after opening the Calculator to achieve the same. The Calculator gets expanded which allows us to perform additional tasks, including calculations on Date.

You can select the date calculation you want from the drop down menu. Here it allows you to perform two types of date calculations.

• Calculate the difference between two dates.
• Add or subtract days to a specified date.

We will see how to use each of these options.

Calculate the difference between two dates using Windows Calculator

Using this option, you can find difference between two dates in terms of years, months and days. Let us take an example to understand it better. Suppose, you want to find out how old you are, then you can select your date of birth in From field and today’s date in To field.

It is very easy to navigate through years and months in Calculator and fill the fields as specified. Click on Calculate and the result is displayed in years, months, days and in entire days also.

Add or subtract days to a specified date

This option is to find what date and day will be after few days from now. For example, you have come across “Offer is valid till 65 days from now!” Then, it is not so easy to find the accurate day and date after 65 days from now. Then, you can use the Windows built-in Calculator to solve this problem for you.

Open up the Calculator in your Windows 8 / 7 and choose the second option “Add or subtract days to a specified date“ from the dropdown. This time, it asks you to specify one date. You need to choose whether you want to add or subtract to the present date. In our example, we want to know the exact day and date after 65 days from now. So select today’s date and choose Add option.

Now, you have the option to add Years, Months and Days. As we are dealing with days, add 65 in Day(s) field and click Calculate. That’s it! It shows that, after 65 days from today (Day on which article was written) is Saturday, March 28, 2015.

If you want to know what was the day which is 5 years, 4 months and 3 days before today’s date. Then, you need to select Subtract and enter 5 in Year(s) field, 4 in Month(s) field and 3 in Day(s) field. This gives you the result.

Are you counting down the days until that concert you have been dying to see? Do you want to know how many days you have been alive? Whatever your motives are, the Windows 8 calculator application comes with a built-in date calculator.

This tech-recipe will cover both day countdowns and adding/subtracting from a specific date.

1. To start the calculations, we will have to first open up the Calculator applications. Search for it from the Start screen.

2. From the Calculator application, select View, and then choose Date Calculation. To go directly to it, you can also press Ctrl + E from the first Calculator screen.

3. First, I will show you how you can calculate the number of days between two dates. Select both From and To dates. For example, if you are trying to calculate the number of days you have been alive, you would select your birthday and today’s date.

4. When you have selected both dates, you can now click Calculate.

As you can see, you are given an answer in both a years, months, weeks and days format along with just a traditional day count.

5. This part of the tutorial will cover adding or subtracting from a certain date. To do so, we will need to select Add or subtract days to a specified date from the list of calculations.

6. Now, select the date from which you want to add or subtract. Then choose Add or Subtract, and enter the amount of years / months / days. Then hit Calculate.

You are presented with the calculated date.

Most of us don’t really use the Windows date calculations calculator that much and, when we do, it’s only for an instant (to do small calculations). However, it is packed with some really interesting features, so lets go ahead and see how date calculations calculator works.

To start, open date calculations calculator by pressing the winkey, and type calcul… (it should’ve popped up by now, if not, you can type the rest of the ‘…ator’ as well just to be sure). Open it. And by the way, this date calculation function works in both Windows 7 and 8.

Once it’s open, click View, and select date calculations calculator (or press Ctrl+E).

Now here’s where the fun begins.

The idea is pretty straightforward. You can perform two types of calculations here:

Since we are messing with dates, it is easy to work with the past, present, or even future. Let’s say you want to find out your current age in terms of days, months, and years. You can use the buttons at the left and right to navigate within months, years, decades, or list of decades. Finally, to jump to the current date, click Today.

Now that you’ve learned how to navigate through the calendar, you can easily select your birth date (let’s assume it’s the 02th of February- ). Since we’re going to find out how old you are today, so in the To field we’ll use today’s date by clicking ‘Today.’

(Yes, the date denoted in the Today field is the date on which this post was written!)

Finally, click Calculate to get the desired result. The resulting difference will be presented in terms of years, months, and days, and simply in days as well.

The DATE function includes the following arguments:

1. Year – This is a required argument. The value of the year argument can include one to four digits. Excel interprets the year argument according to the date system used by the local computer. By default, Microsoft Excel for Windows uses the 1900 date system, which means the first date is January 1, 1900.
2. Month – This is a required argument. It can be a positive or negative integer representing the month of the year from 1 to 12 (January to December).

• Excel will add the number of months to the first month of the specified year. For example, DATE(2017,14,2) returns the serial number representing February 2, 2018.

• When the month is less than or equal to zero, Excel will subtract the absolute value of month plus 1 from the first month of the specified year.

For example, DATE(2016,-3,2) returns the serial number representing September 2, 2015.

1. Day – This is a required argument. It can be a positive or negative integer representing the day of a month from 1 to 31.

• When day is greater than the number of days in the specified month, day adds that number of days to the first day of the month. For example, DATE(2016,1,35) returns the serial number representing February 4, 2016.

• When day is less than 1, this function will subtract the value of the number of days, plus one, from the first day of the month specified. For example, DATE(2016,1,-15) returns the serial number representing December 16, 2015.

How to use the DATE Function in Excel?

The Date function is a built-in function that can be used as a worksheet function in Excel. To understand the uses of this function, let’s consider a few examples:

Windows Calculator is one app that almost every Windows 10 user has used over the years. The app does allow users to a lot more than just simple mathematical calculations.

One of the handy features that Calculator has is the ability to perfectly calculate days or the difference between dates. We all have been in a situation where we need to know the date after X number of days and we sit and count patiently. Well in that scenario you can easily use Windows Calculator and here’s how you can use it in the future:

• Open Start Menu and search for Calculator.
• Open Calculator and click on the hamburger menu on the top.
• Now select Date Calculation from the menu.

Once you get inside the Date Calculation option, you will see two options- Difference between dates, Add and subtract dates. The first option will allow you to find the difference between two dates. For instance, you want to know the number of days between 1st March and today (i.e. 12th March) then you can use the first option.

The second option will allow you to add or subtract days from a particular date. For instance, if you want to know what will be the date 100 days from today (i.e. 12th March) then you can use this option to add 100 days. Similarly, you can use this option to subtract days.

This is certainly not a big feature or the one that gets the most attention but this is one feature you might miss if it’s not there. Microsoft Outlook has an excellent built-in tool that can help you stay on top of your deadlines. That tool is the built-in date calculator (although we’d love it if you bookmark our page and use our calculators).

I started this blog to help lawyers keep up with court deadlines by sharing information about books that can help them research procedural deadline issues quickly and efficiently. When you know the deadlines, then you must know how to calculate them and keep track of them ( case management software can help you with that).

Let’s say you just received discovery requests in a case. You know you have 30 days to serve objections and responses, so you open up your calendar and start counting through the days.

Microsoft Outlook can automatically calculate that deadline for you, so long as you use the correct wording.

All you have to do is go the Tasks list and open up a new task. Mine is located here on the bottom right side of my Outlook window. Double click the field captioned Type a New Task.

The Start Date field should automatically populate with the current date. Below that, you will see the Due Date field. In order to calculate a deadline 30 days from today, you will enter “today +30 days” in the Due Date field. You can change the number of days to whatever number meets your deadline criteria.

Once you’ve done that, Outlook will automatically populate your new due date.

Viola! Using this automatic date calculation feature in Microsoft Outlook will help you keep up with your deadlines.

Certainly, and thank you for responding.

One particular situation is in paying household bills. I will go to a certain bill pay website, and I may need to do calculations, so I have the calculator there atop the site. I do calculations, and enter numbers into the site, which then obscures the calculator.

In order to perform more calculations, I must click in the taskbar to pull up the calculator again, whereas if there was a simple “stay on top” setting, the calculator would always be visible for back and forth calculations-entries-calculations-entries.

I have a few homemade spreadsheets for various number crunching purposes with which this is also handy. In the past, as I mentioned, I have used a third party app called “Powermenu” to achieve this in Windows 7 and Vista. I’m just uncertain that the same app would work under Windows 10, and I don’t want to mess anything up.
