Harry Styles is an octopus mermaid in his new Music For a Sushi Restaurant video and it’s the last thing anyone expected.
Music For a Sushi Restaurant track is the first song on his latest album Harry’s House and it’s a firm favorite amongst fans.
Speaking to NPR earlier this year, the 28-year-old said he was in a sushi restaurant when one of the songs from his second album Fine Line came on.
He thought it was an odd song to be played in a sushi restaurant, which sparked the genius song title – and alas the upbeat track was born.
Now, he’s releasing it as the third single from Harry’s House and fans can’t get over the bizarre music video…
Harry Styles is an octopus mermaid in new music video
In the funny video, Harry is a mermaid creature that is half man and half octopus or squid, with tentacles instead of legs.
A man finds him on a beach and calls a local sushi restaurant called Gill’s who wants to turn him into sushi – until they realise he can sing.
Octopus merman Harry then becomes a performer who sings in the sushi restauarant and loves his new-found stardom.
However, at the end of the video, he loses his voice and can’t sing anymore so the restaurant owner turns him into sushi.

‘That wasn’t on my 2022 bingo card’
The odd video was the last thing fans expected from the singer this year.
Lots of people on Twitter are saying ‘that wasn’t on my 2022 bingo card’ which essentially means they weren’t expecting it to happen.
One person wrote: “Harry Styles as an octopus man singing in a sushi restaurant to avoid being eaten was not on my 2022 bingo card.”
“Harry styles being an octopus mermaid man in his new music video was not on my 2022 bingo card but that’s okay I kinda like it lmao,” said another.
A third person added: “I never thought anyone could pull off being half mermaid half octopus, yet Harry Styles manages like always.”

He has a beard in Music For a Sushi Restaurant too
If the octopus tentacles weren’t enough already, Harry also has a beard at the start of the Music For a Sushi Restaurant video.
The Watermelon Sugar singer sports a thick, dark, bushy beard that is worlds away from his usual shaven self – and fans aren’t keen.
One person wrote: “I need harry styles to never grow his beard ever in his life.”
“Harry Styles with a full beard is the ickiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” another said.
Someone else added: “I love Harry Styles but that man has no business having a full beard.”
“Please stop showing me Harry Styles with that gross beard I have suffered enough in my life,” a fourth person tweeted.
