Gary Brooker, vocalist of Procol Harum, is believed to have passed away on February 19, 2022, aged 76. His death was revealed by his band in a joint statement on their official website:
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Brooker MBE, Procol Harum singer, pianist and songwriter on February 19, 2022, and an irreplaceable bright light. in the music business.”

Gary Brooker was born on 29 May 1945 at Hackney Hospital in East London. He is the son of musician Harry Brooker and started playing musical instruments at an early age, including piano, trombone and cornet.
