In the aftermath of the tragic motorcycle crash in Westport on Saturday, new details have surfaced, shedding light on the incident.

The victim has been identified by authorities as Frank Brown, a resident of Waterbury.

According to Westport police, while Brown was riding his motorcycle, he lost control of the vehicle following a collision with a car that was traveling in front of him. The driver then swerved abruptly into the median, resulting in a devastating collision with a solid concrete wall.

Brown was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Regrettably, shortly thereafter, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The crash happened on the northbound side of the highway, specifically between Exits 17 and 18.

As a result, authorities have taken the necessary steps to temporarily shut down the affected portion of the highway. In a recent incident, a car driven by Brown collided with another vehicle, which happened to be carrying five passengers. Fortunately, none of the occupants in the second car sustained any injuries as a result of the collision.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
