Endgame Line Has Become a Meme
It looks like one of Avengers: Endgame's most emotionally-poignant moments has found new life as a meme. As those who have seen the film will surely remember, its final scene sees Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) returning to the present-day as an older man, after he decided to stay in the past after returning the Infinity Stones. Steve then decides to give the Captain Americamantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), and the pair shake hands. When they do, Sam notices that Steve has a wedding ring on, and asks if he's going to tell him about the woman who became his wife. Steve thinks about it for a second before responding "No, I don't think I will."
Of course, we as the audience soon learn that Steve married Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), as the film closes on a shot of them finally getting their slow-dance in the past. But out of context, Steve's delivery of "No, I don't think I will" has taken on a whole other life of its own. Fans have taken to social media to share a slew of new contexts that that line could work in, ranging from the almost-universal to the incredibly specific.
So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite "No, I don't think I will" memes.
