DJ Carey Father, Mother – DJ Carey is an Irish former hurler and a businessman. He played as a left wing-forward at senior level for the Kilkenny County team. He started his hurling career with Young Irelands at club level and broke onto the club’s top adult team in 1988 as a 17-year-old.

The club won the Kilkenny Intermediate Championship title which was enjoyed by him. After this winning, he was promoted to the top flight. Later, DJ Carey won Kilkenny Senior Championship medals as captain in 1996 and 2002.

After retirement, DJ Carey entered into business and started a number of business ventures including D.J. Carey Enterprises which is a wholesale company selling hygiene products of other businesses. 

DJ Carey was charged with many counts of deception and forgery on 29 September 2023. He is accused of stating that he had cancer to induce people to give him money.

DJ Carey’s father’s name is John Carey who passed away in October 2021. DJ Carey’s mother’s name is Maura Carey who passed away in 2018. She passed away on 24 Septemebr 2018 at her home at the Demesne, Gowran, Co. 

When she passed away, she was surrounded by her husband John, and her children DJ, Jack, Kieran, Martin, Catriona, Liz, and Aisling.
