Catherine Mehaffey Shelton Obituary: What happened to former Texas attorney Catherine Mehaffey Shelton?

Death seemed to follow Catherine Mehaffey-Shelton everywhere she went. Numerous people Catherine knew over the years passed away in peculiar situations, sparking a lot of conjecture and media attention. ‘Your Worst Nightmare: Black Widow’ on Investigation Discovery explores one such period of her life where she was charged with trying to kill her ex-boyfriend after he left their relationship.

Catherine’s first husband was a Navy man named Matt Quinlan. In 1969, she was charged with shooting him, but she insisted that the gun accidently discharged. The native of Houston, Texas, got divorced with Matt around a year later and returned to her homeland. Then, in 1976, while studying law at the University of Houston, Catherine met a doctor named George Tedesco. Soon after, they started dating.

But during the next two years, everything broke down, and, according to the show, the couple had a violent relationship with George being terrified of Catherine. George was found dead in his garage on 15 January 1979, after being beaten to death by a police officer who had gone to check on him. Investigators then discovered that Catherine had filed for divorce from George following their breakup, claiming to be his common-law spouse. Some of George’s possessions had been taken before the incident, and he believed Catherine was to blame.

Although Catherine was still a person of interest, the murder of George went unsolved because she was never put on trial. She continued to live in Houston after that and started dating Gary Taylor, a reporter. Gary thought it was enjoyable at first, but then she started acting strange. “You better do what I say,” she said to multiple individuals, he said. You are aware of George’s fate. He eventually desired to part ways with her.
