Family and friends will forever remember Camila and her uniqueness.

Camila passed away on December 1, 2021. She will be sorely missed.

“It’s been two years today since we lost our beloved Camila Caballero. Not a day has gone by where my heart does not ache missing her magic. Camila is not with us physically, but she will always be with us in spirit,” a Facebook post said.

“In her honor, we sponsored a bench on the Esplanade in Boston overlooking the Charles River. The bench is a place to reflect. Camila loved to reflect; she made sure to soak up the meaning of every moment, not letting the precious moments pass us by; she had a unique gift to stop and smell the roses amidst the hustle and bustle of life. One of her favorite quotes was about roses too: “you wouldn’t ask why the rose that grew from the concrete had damaged petals. On the contrary, we would all celebrate its tenacity.” She believed fiercely in everyone’s potential and saw their full beauty, from her loved ones to the students and patients she invested in and cared so deeply for.”

“On the bench, we included an engraving, an ode to Camilita: “Camila Caballero, A place to reflect with and about you. You grew roses in concrete and cared for every tenacious petal.” Next time you pass by the Esplanade, find a moment to sit on the bench, reflect, and soak up life in honor of our dear Camila.”
