Who Was Brian Dequincey Newman?
Brian DeQuincey, a Columbia lawyer, was elected to City Council in 2010. He was the youngest person ever elected to the council. He charged the District 2 seat that had been left vacant by his predecessor, E.W. Cromartie.
DeQuincey was reelected to a full council term in 2012 and worked through 2015 when he opted not to run again. He graduated from Morehouse College and the University of South Carolina School of Law, and also he founded his own firm in 2013.
