On 25 January 2023, Jim dropped his children off at Glenelg Beach before heading off on a three-day sales trip to Snowtown.

The next day, on 26 January 1966 in the morning, The children said their mother Nancy to visit again. Those children caught the bus at 8:45 and were expected to return home on the 12:00 noon bus.

When the children didn’t return on either the 12:00 or 2:00 pm buses, Nancy got worried. As Jim returned home from his trip around 3:00 pm, he drove to the crowded beach to search for his children but they were unable to locate the children.

Years passed but they didn’t find their children. It was claimed that the Beaumont Children had been abducted by a religious cult and they were living in New Zealand, Melbourne, or Tasmania.

Jim and Nancy were devasted in 1990 when a newspaper published computer-generated photographs of how the children would have looked as adults. The photos caused a huge wave of public sympathy which is still sensitive to their pain.
