Alma Aragon Death; Mom Identified As Victim Killed In fatal Crash DUI Suspect in South LA

A lady who was struck and murdered at a bus stop in South Los Angeles has been identified. She was 26 years old at the time of the incident. According to the authorities, the crash, which involved an SUV driven by a suspect suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, resulted in the victim’s daughter, who was nine years old, suffering critical injuries.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Alma Aragon and her daughter were struck by a vehicle as they were sitting on a bench next to the bus stop in the 1700 block of West 83rd Street, which is located at the intersection of Western Avenue.

According to the findings of the investigation conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department, a sedan was exiting the parking lot of a liquor shop when it was struck by a speeding SUV, which subsequently careened into the terminal of the bus stop.

A video obtained by AIR7 HD revealed what appeared to be a collision between the vehicle and the rear of the bench, which caused the bench to be pushed off the sidewalk and into the street.

Police claim that a crash in South Los Angeles that involved a suspect who was driving under the influence of alcohol resulted in the death of a lady and the critical injury of her small kid.

The LAPD stated that Aragon, her daughter, and the person suspected of driving under the influence were all transferred to a hospital, where Aragon was pronounced dead.

“It’s looking right now like it’s going to take a miracle for this girl to (pull through),” Detective Ryan Moreno stated during a news conference held on Friday afternoon within close proximity to the crash site. “So we’re all praying for her that she makes it.”

For the purpose of paying tribute to the two victims, a makeshift memorial was constructed on the sidewalk. The memorial was made up of flowers and balloons, and mourners were spotted there.

It was reported by the police that the driver, whose name has not been made public, was being held in custody pending the possibility of manslaughter charges.

According to Aaron Wilkins, who lives in close proximity to the incident, “Western is a freeway,” referring to drivers who are speeding on the roadway. “It’s bad that somebody just — on Thanksgiving — just lost they’re family.”
